Do you know if Rumph was Bandy's primary recruiter, or are you just assuming he is because he plays CB? Our coaches don't just recruit by position.

When Richt first assembled the staff, recruiting responsibilities were divvied up based on position instead of region. That's probably changed/expanded since then, but that's how it was operating at first.

I think the anti-Rumph rhetoric has gotten bizarre.

Yea I don't understand the hate for Rumph..got haven't had a chance be evaluated...none of the coaches have...and as far as recruiting goes...a HS Coach doesn't have that much influence over a kids choice..especially a kid with a good support system at home...Was Richt not a good recruiter cause he didn't land Shaq to UGA... rhetorical...he was a **** good recruiter...but Shaq wanted to come to UM no matter what

Problem is we didnt bring Rumph here for his coaching pedigree we brought him here because of his ties to local recruiting... there were plenty of other coaches with a better resume to be our DB coach...as far as experience coaching DB's RUmph was probably last.... only thing that made us hire him was his ability to recruit and so far he gets an F..thats the hate..every other guy we hired had college coaching experience except Rumph. Its his first yearcoaching DB's at a college level hes gonna take his lumps he's not experienced at all

Doesn't seem all that complicated. Rumph was expected to deliver the guys he coached at AH. There's no other reason to pay a guy with no college coaching experience $250K/year to coach CBs.

He's been a miserable failure as a recruiter. We can judge that. We can't judge his coaching yet because he hasn't coached yet.

There are 2 distinct prongs to being a college position coach--1. Recruiting; 2. Coaching. This isn't the NFL. You better be able to recruit your *** off if your a position coach in college unless you are a grey beard with a 20 year resume' of producing great players at your position.

Answer this. How is rumph going to land somebody when the staff dont want them? Name the recruits that richt wanted and rumph was personally recruiting that he missed on.

he gets a f for landing henderson and bandy? The only recruit he personally missed on was marco.

Are you obtuse enough to actually think that Rumph wasn't expected to have any juice with the guys he coached at AH? He was expected to deliver all of those guys, not just the DBs.

You don't bring in a HS coach from a great HS program loaded with D1 prospects with zero college experience and tell him, "Hey, don't bother with the guys you coached at AH because some of them aren't CBs."

It's not anti-Rumph rhetoric on my end. It's anti-fail rhetoric. I'm calling it as I see it and not just slurping Kool Aid and making excuses. He's been a miserable failure as a recruiter so far. Hopefully, he can switch that up.

I just don't see all the guys he whiffed on. It doesn't seem like we were hot after any of the AH guys. He missed on Marco Wilson, but he's also landed some other 4-star corners.

I think labeling him a failure is extreme.

LOL at the drama queens getting all lathered up over Colbertson praising Rumph. First, no one criticized Rumph's coaching. There's no real data on his coaching. He's taking a rightful beating for being a total failure as a recruiter.

Second, Tracy Howard waxed poetic a couple years ago about how great D'Oritos was. He went on for several paragraphs about what a great coach he was. Several other players, including Kirby, did the same thing. I guess, according to your backward logic, D'Oritos was also a great coach.

Or the real drama queens were the ones trashing the guy when a recruit didn't come and calling him a bust. This week we've seen him land Bandy and heard about his coaching skills. The only reason people are bringing this up because you guys have been complaining about him before he even got to his first training camp

You coach leg humpers love your strawman nonsense. People aren't down on Rumph's awful recruiting because of 1 guy--Marco Wilson.

Trajan Bandy, Columbus, Cornerback

Gotta hand it to Scrubmph, our CB's have killed the opposing WR's so far this season. Holding Travis Rudolph to zero receptions so far is impressive!

Peter Ariz;2581121 Add him to the never-ending list of players who made physical progress in the offseason. Miami’s running back said that he is down to 230 pounds on 9% body fat said:
So basically this team was carrying the extra weight of a couple elephants all last season and had the muscle mass of this guy....

Rumph isnt the head coach at miami. Richt only wanted herbert and marco. Rumph wasnt recruiting herbert. What is rumph supposed to do? If marco and his family hate miami for not offering quincy, how is that his fault?

It seems you and others are having a hard time understanding just because rumph coached at heritage doesnt mean richt wants his former players.

You still havent named a recruit he has missed other than marco.

Where are the recruits he missed that the staff actually wanted? Not who fans wanted but the staff.

I wanna get the kids we havent been getiing the last 5 years... the problem is him not getting Marco and Marco's commebts of why he didnt choose Rumph has been kind of disheartening to say the least.. We all had visions of grandeur WHen he was hired at the beginnning of the year what January 1st? We all thought he would at least pull somebody in 2016 he had a month..Who didnt he pull in 2016?

Tyler Byrd
Carlos Becker
Aaron RObinson

Just because he hasn't coached in college doesn't mean that he can't coach well. We don't know what factors that went into play leading CMR to hire him, but I can guarantee you it wasn't solely for his "ability to recruit". By the way hiring a high school coach who has never recruited players for college before and saying he was hired because of his ability to recruit is just plain stupid.

Maybe CMR spent almost all of the money he had available on big name guys like Coach Kool and had only a little remaining, so he went with a younger guy he believes has the potential to be a very good teacher at the position and also happens to be an alum of the school. I feel like all of you guys just expect an all-star staff, regardless if its feasible. You guys realize we've already spent way more on this coaching staff than we ever have or were expected to; Our funds aren't endless.

Some Previous coach salaries:
Diaz: 575k at MSU. Probably getting paid more here.
Kool: 362k at Mizzou. Extremely likely he's being paid more than this, otherwise he probably wouldn't have left.
Searles: 280k at VTech. Probably getting a slight raise.
Brown: 275k at UGA. Definitely getting a major raise, because he is also offensive coordinator. Not going to make as much as Diaz though.
Dugans: 190k. Probably in the 200k's.

It's likely Rumph is being paid in the sub-200k range. OTHER DB coaches across the country: Travaris Robinson was paid 550k last year at Auburn. Kerry Cooks (Oklahomas db coach) was paid 425k, Wllie Martinez (UT DB coach) was paid 380k, Mike Reed and Mike Zordich (Clemson and Michigan's DB coach) were paid 310k. I just don't see what top notch DB coach we were going to get under under 300k, let alone under 250k or 200k.

He didnt miss on any of them. Keep reaching. Byrd wanted to play with fils-aime and becker wasnt even interested because he was ****ed about getting offered late. Aaron robinson got offered and said soon as he got the offer he had no interest at all in miami. And he didnt miss pierre. Pierre was just available and richt didnt even go after him.

Like i said yall just talking out your ***. He only missed on marco and you ****ers are *****ing.

blackvern now lets look at facts. Rumph has landed bandy and henderson, banda got edwards and gibson, dugans got dingle and njoku, searles got dykstra and hillery, kool got dj, ford, and garvin, richt got dallas, hartley got polendey.

Based on this the only one on staff who group is better is maybe kool. But keep hating and making up ****.
