LOL at the drama queens getting all lathered up over Colbertson praising Rumph. First, no one criticized Rumph's coaching. There's no real data on his coaching. He's taking a rightful beating for being a total failure as a recruiter.

You lost credibility with the tracy howard point. It was well documented that tracy and d'onofrio didn't get along and tracy was just trying to play nice for the public.

How did he lose credibility? What you said actually provides credence to his point that you can take what the players say with a grain of salt.

Colbert has no reason to say anything about how rumph has helped him. Tracy never said d'onofrio helped him or that he developed anybody. He just said d'onofrio was a good coach after being constantly asked about his defense.

Where are the clueless mfkers on here to cry about firing Rumph bc a couple recruits we don't need and wasn't coming in the 1st place didn't commit?? Lol dumb *** clowns

I am not one of those clueless mfkers, but let's not get ahead of ourselves either on the opposite end of the spectrum. We are 6 days into camp and a couple of guys give him praise. Let's wait until there is more solid evidence before we start saying I told you so.

I'll make judgement when the season concludes

Yea I don't understand the hate for Rumph..got haven't had a chance be evaluated...none of the coaches have...and as far as recruiting goes...a HS Coach doesn't have that much influence over a kids choice..especially a kid with a good support system at home...Was Richt not a good recruiter cause he didn't land Shaq to UGA... rhetorical...he was a **** good recruiter...but Shaq wanted to come to UM no matter what

Richt would have failed at recruiting if Shaq's HS was in Georgia , just sayin.

I don't get the argument on why a recruit should follow their high school head coach to a school where they won't even be their position coach. Others you listed when Rumph didn't even work for UM. He could push them towards UM as much he wanted but we sucked and it's Golden' staff that needs to do the recruiting.

If I'm a top offensive lineman I don't get why I need to follow Rumph, who is a cornerback coach, anywhere! He wouldn't even be my position coach. When Malzahn left the high school he coached at to coach at Arkansas the whole offense followed him but why? Because he was going to have a direct impact on them. He became the Offensive Coordinator!

Because he played at miami and coached at heritage they think the heritage recruits should break their necks to come to miami. When they should know most of the top south florida recruits hasnt been coming to miami.

“I love Coach Rumph, it’s just it’s his first year there and I don’t want to take any chances with that. I just see what Torrian has done in the past, he’s put a lot of guys in the league and he’s dealt with a lot of great [defensive backs]. He just produces a lot of great guys, and I want to be the next one.”

Meanwhile Banda the Bartender is running circles around Rumph.

This can't be true. So many people on here hate Rumph, so must automatically be a bad coach.

A player on his last year of eligibility coming off a transfer sucking up to his position coach....you don't say.

Sucking up? You need to stop ****ing hating. Did rumph smash yall girls or some ****? Yall mad over marco like he ****in deion sanders or some.

So bc youre an entitled pos, you're blaming players not committing to Al Golden on Rumph bc he was the high school HC?? just bc you want to win the recruiting battle, but would've been dissing more than half the players on that list bc Miami woldve still sucked regardless. Smh

Don't bring intelligence to this place. It's frowned upon.

Richt would have failed at recruiting if Shaq's HS was in Georgia , just sayin.

He failed at recruiting Ralph Kirby and he was a top 5 ILB from Georgia.

Problem is we didnt bring Rumph here for his coaching pedigree we brought him here because of his ties to local recruiting... there were plenty of other coaches with a better resume to be our DB coach...as far as experience coaching DB's RUmph was probably last.... only thing that made us hire him was his ability to recruit and so far he gets an F..thats the hate..every other guy we hired had college coaching experience except Rumph. Its his first yearcoaching DB's at a college level hes gonna take his lumps he's not experienced at all

You can well-document anything you want. You just supported my point. Tracy hated D'Oritos and thought he was a **** coach. Yet, he talked about him to the press like he was Buddy Ryan circa 1985. Do you get that? Can you see why a player complimenting his coach to the press might not be a great barometer of the coach's worth?

Glad someone's smart enough to see that. Jeez Louise, we got some thick skulls around here.

Or the real drama queens were the ones trashing the guy when a recruit didn't come and calling him a bust. This week we've seen him land Bandy and heard about his coaching skills. The only reason people are bringing this up because you guys have been complaining about him before he even got to his first training camp

You coach leg humpers love your strawman nonsense. People aren't down on Rumph's awful recruiting because of 1 guy--Marco Wilson.

Do you know if Rumph was Bandy's primary recruiter, or are you just assuming he is because he plays CB? Our coaches don't just recruit by position.

He is bandy main recruiter as well as henderson and jobe. So that must be his area. And bandy said he commited to rumph last week.

Doesn't seem all that complicated. Rumph was expected to deliver the guys he coached at AH. There's no other reason to pay a guy with no college coaching experience $250K/year to coach CBs.

He's been a miserable failure as a recruiter. We can judge that. We can't judge his coaching yet because he hasn't coached yet.

There are 2 distinct prongs to being a college position coach--1. Recruiting; 2. Coaching. This isn't the NFL. You better be able to recruit your *** off if your a position coach in college unless you are a grey beard with a 20 year resume' of producing great players at your position.
