Not to nitpick here but this recruiting class is already much better than last years

We had 1 top 150 player last year

We’ve got 5-6 right now and Cooper would give us two 5 stars and another one

That’s pretty **** good (though obviously glaring holes like you said)

People just got flaccid because of the hype machine which we should all know better by now
We had 4 top 150 recruits in the last cycle with a total of 20 committed HS recruits. Today, we sit with 5 top 150 recruits on 19 HS commits. It’s a slight improvement based on that 150 nbr.

Let’s see where it settles come December. Think most on this site are expecting Mario and staff to deliver much greater results in year 4 both on and off the field..

I’m genuinely curious what makes Zac Etheridge and Will Harris “two of the best secondary coaches in the nation” other than the fact we hired them??

I’m asking because I’m no DB coach expert and don’t even follow it but I recall us spending most of last year clowning Will Harris. Etheridge I know less about other than his sister Melissa.
Well of course my friend! I would be happy to answer your questions! First of all I would like to clear something up. I don't think that Etheridge and Harris are two of the best DB coaches in college because of the fact that we hired them. I can be very positive and optimistic about certain things but I'm incapable of that level of homerism.

Now to answer your question, I was impressed by both of their track records of player development thus far in each of their careers plus the fact that both are very good recruiters. However what really won me over when I looked into both was that both have a reputation for being excellent teachers which is something we have lacked at Miami for quite some time. Honestly we may have clowned Will Harris after we rolled the gator in the swamp last year but Harris really was able to turn that group around over the course of the season and his work at Washington before that was excellent. Etheridge was a very good coach at both Auburn and Houston. Both coaches were very well liked by their players. I could have gone a little over the top in my characterization of them as two of the best in the nation but not by much as I think that both are excellent coaches.

PS. Zac Etheridge is not related to Melissa Etheridge nor is he related to Carlos Etheridge.

I was fully convinced the comment you replied to was written by AI
I may be able to clear up the reason you think that way. I suffered an aneurysm on May 24th 2024. It was a subarachnoid hemorrhage and I'm absolutely fortunate and blessed to be alive. I had a hole drilled into my skull and a tube attached that pumped all the excess blood and fluid out of my skull after the rupture had my skull rapidly filling up with blood which feels like your skull is about to explode. This is called the thunderclap headache. I went into emergency surgery a few hours later and was at the hospital for 3 weeks after the surgery. After 3 weeks I went back home where it took me 2 months to be able to walk again and about 8 months where I could only be on my feet for a couple of hours before feeling weak and dizzy.

While I was incredibly fortunate not to suffer from any substantive type of cognitive impairment or deficit, there were and are certain things that were different and other things that I have been improving on over the last year. One of those things is a balance issue where I have to be careful going up and down steps and things like that. Another thing was expressing myself in writing. It was something that always came easy for me but since the aneurysm it has been something that I have had to work on to get back to my old form. I haven't posted as much over the last year because of it but I feel I'm beginning to make good enough progress lately. I'm not completely back yet but the doctors say I'm getting much better. Thanks for bringing that up. I depend on honest feedback. Cheers. Go Canes!

Cool don’t want to split hairs I’m factoring Cooper into this mix as well

We will see how it goes

**** dude. I feel like a real *******.

But it wasn’t due to anything you typed out. It’s more just if I see anyone say anything on here that is coherent and more than a few sentences long it’s so out of left field my antennas go up. Happy to hear you’re doing well, I remember reading your story last year.

Bro I don’t get it lol, you would’ve thought signing day was in two weeks reading this board 😂

These people never learn man lol

If there is 1 thing i've learned with Mario, it's never count that **** out when it comes to recruiting.

Every time I feel like recruiting has slipped a little for his standards, he'll pull a shocker out of nowhere.

Wake me up in December. Y'all can keep having periods over a recruiting class in July

Love hearing the hype on Toure and the young DEs. So much rides on the success of the team this year. NO EXCUSES. Win 10+, get to the playoffs, and this flywheel is humming. Need to clean up the poor recruiting results at DT and S in the portal, and find a QB for 2026. But overall we'll be in exceptional position. Fail to make the playoffs and we'll be back in purgatory.
