**I have posted this before but I will reiterate it. Miami’s plan with Dexter Williams has always been to use him in a variety of ways. He may be labeled as a “running back” when he gets on campus, but look for him to play a lot of receiver. Mark Walton’s reclassification was a surprise to many, so it will be very interesting to see if Williams continues to buy into the potential of this role, as it seems like he is willing to play up to this point.

I'm probably reading too much into this, but this sounds like a far more encouraging blurb than the widespread speculation that he flat out won't end up in this class. Specifically the part about how he's willing to play as a movable chess piece and is buying into the potential of that role in the offense.

The ultimate pipe dream scenario at RB in this class -- which I admit is completely unrealistic -- is for Walton to somehow not reclassify (hope to land him in 2016), hang onto Williams and sell him on this RB/WR role, keep Cronkrite, and add Scarlett as the second traditional RB. Williams potentially playing a lot of receiver could convince Cronkrite that there would be just two true every-down RBs in this class, which is apparently important to him.

It's greedy to even think of that, even while acknowledging how unrealistic it is. But dammit I want...

Some on this board know the Cronkrite family well so what's the deal. If Miami takes only two RB's he will stay but if a 3rd RB or more come he will leave?

I love Cronkrite's tape and potential man that would be a blow to the class for me.

Pete, regarding Allison, the freshman guys will be juniors by the time he has an opportunity to play. That should be a positive as opposed to potentially being a negative shouldn't it?

Nice job! I too would like to know if Langham got in. Very high on him too.

Why would Cronkrite leave even if we take 3? If Duke leaves we will only have Edwards and Yearby. We need to add 3 if he enters the draft.
RB is a position that requires depth.

From what I have read here it would be because he feels like that would be the staff lying to him. Not as much about the numbers as it is about the coaches telling him they would take 2 and then taking 3 instead.

I doubt this is true. This does not sound like the mentality of a competitor. Everywhere he goes there are going to be stud RB's in front and behind him.... There are NO guarantees. If he likes MIami, then he should pull for them.... Done deal!!

Well the poster who put it up said he isn't afraid of competition, but it's about trusting the coaches. Personally I have my feelings on this but if a kid feels lied to, the kid feels lied to. Doesn't matter what we think.

Why would he feel like he's being lied to? There were no guarantee that Walton would reclassify. I dont think he would leave because of that.

I don't know maybe because these are 17 year olds and not posted on a message board? Staff told him a certain number. Then the actual number might be different. That in the eyes of some is a lie. Not me personally. But some.
