When we were dominant, while watching the game I used to get more pumped up when our defense took the field, much more when our offense did. My most enjoyment was watching our defense go after the opposing QB dragging him to the ground, destroying their offense. I miss those days. Am I the only one?
Me too

Forgot the mention of Ahmon Richards being fast....very fast. Combined with Coley, Bruce and the TE's, then Berrios, Cager and Dyall Harris (???) could see some big opportunities with focus on those 3 (Richards,Coley & Bruce) and TE's (NJoku, Herndon and Dobard). Man I can't wait to see a real Canes football team.

Those days were nice. While we had D'no all you could do is prepare thy **** everytime an opposing offense took the field

If we can get the running game going with fast receivers on the outside and a great pro style QB... man, it will be majestic.

This and ****, I miss the days of the opposing team's offense calling time out because they known they could not get the play off against our defense.

It blows my mind that Golden can put together the D-line talent he did, only to have it perform the way it did. It's mind warping, really.

Golden and NoD signed some quality, fast, and aggressive 4-3 DLineman........for their reactive 3-4 defensive scheme.

It was Al Golden doing what Al Golden does best: refusing to alter his scheme to better suit the talent available. We've got loads of speed rushers who can make a living in the backfield. Al: "Let's get as much weight on them as possible and ask them to occupy linemen while trying to control two gaps."

Been telling you since we hired Kool that this DL is going to be great. He's produced great results over the years with much less raw talent. You guys are shaking in your boots over the DL because of what it's been under Folden, but that's the reason Folden's gone.

You guys are living on that Folden nonsense with the DL. That's like saying your ghey buddy's a loser because he can't get hard when he sees a hot chick's pookyak. Then, when he peeps some sweet man *** he's diamond hard registering a 10 on the Mohs scale.

Good stuff but I'm so traumatized that I never want to hear that they're satisfied at the DT spot.

No doubt. I'm glad Golden's guys are responding to real coaching and a real scheme that fits, but I truly believed Richt and Kool would want to bring in some extra high caliber guys. Guess we will see more in 2018.

UM

That DL is littered with 4 and 5 star guys. How much more "high caliber" do you need to produce results?

There were numerous occasions during the Golden era that we heard of players on the team bashing the staff to recruits, but that is far from an issue with Richt’s staff.

:U5PyXda:

So that was actually happening?

And people got mad when they said it i knew it was true rumors like that arent rumors.....wasnt it drummond who said it.....i believed it people dont say **** like that for nothing

Good work Pete, hopefully Chad can put it together this year we need somebody opposite of AQM.

Jackson will be our best dl i think for some reason i have no proof just a feeling.

You mean Thomas? And I agree if that's who you're talking bout.

I think he means Chad's HS teammate, Demetrius Jackson.

I wouldnt laugh at this. DemeJax looked like a freakin beast at the Spring game. Gained some nice weight too. He and Willis were eating that second unit alive. I am very excited about him come Fall ball.

Cant teach that length.....wantto see what kool does with him he can be taking chads spotif chad doeantwake up

Agreed. He has almost the prototypical build of a 4-3 DE. Plays hungry every down. In an aggressive system with better coaching, he's going to surprise a lot of folks.

Im not confident in saying it but i meantjackson hes long and has way more untapped potential imo

Agreed on the D-line. There is ALOT of depth and talent. Its up in the air as to if anyone is elite yet. I would hope some guys really stand out with the new scheme/philosophy.

Kool had some good players at Mizzou and a couple Elite talents but he did wonders with much less talent then what we get each year. I am so excited to see what he can do with Miami talent.

Not too bad when you add in a 5-star DL coach....

There's no need to worry about DL recruits / commits while Kuligowski is here - if he signs off on them, there's a really good chance they'll be productive....

Coach Kool is the best assistant coach hire I can remember. He's the kind of coach that could have named the school he worked at next, and he came here. Also, odds are he stays here as long as Richt stays here. He seems to like stability, seeing as how he didn't leave Missouri until there was a coaching change. This is an even better job, with access to even better talent, so if he didn't leave Missouri for a higher paying job, I don't see him leaving UM.

It's a great, great time to be a Cane.
