Wow, this is news to me. Especially when Diaz and Richt himself have been to Miami Central and confirmed that they still value Steed's commitment. If this were true, I can guarantee that my son will not be committed today. Peter, where did you get this information? Slow??? I will put money up against any LB that you think has better cover skills them him. My son is an all around playmaker and he will prove it again this year!!!

Hope both of your sons end up as teammates at Miami.

I wish I could tell you but even I don't know.

Good news!!! Who are the prospects at Central that no one is talking about?

Christopher Williams is a great CB. Had Knee surgery after state game but should be back to form if all goes well. There will be a bunch of new faces this year with a couple of kids transferring in from American, Miramar, Jackson, and Northwestern so I will have to answer your question after spring ball. Mershawn Miller is a beast at OL but he is little undersized for the position.

I want steed, wilder, Miller as my linebackers and close up shop

So the staff says 2 LB this class, but people keep saying they think 3. That says everything about what people's opinions are worth. THEY JUST SAID 2, WHY WOULD YOU ASSUME THEY MEANT 3?

The staff didnt say 2, bruh. PETE said 2. They're not the same thing.

Not only that, if a kid blows up that wants to come here, you think the staff is gonna say "no" because we've already filled our "quota"? lmao.

And of course, a lot can change between now and next year. I think a LOT of the current deadweight at LB is gonna be let go, so a class of 3 will be very much in play.

Thanks for clearing this up... I was a little worried although Pete's statement made no sense to me. Your son will be another STUD at LB U. I also don't believe they will sign only 2 LBs in 2017... I understand we signed 3 this year and only lose Grace to graduation this year but look at what we have on the roster:

Grace (SR)
Young (JR)
Owens (JR)
Gayot (JR)
Perry (SO)
Smith (RS SO)
McCray (RS SO)
King (SO)
Gordinier (RS FR)
Shaq (FR)
Zach (FR)
Mike (FR)

That is a total of 12 scholarship LBs and we will have 4 underclassmen and 7 upperclassmen LBs after 2016... we also stand to lose 3 LB after 2017 and 2 more will be RS SRs who will be eligible to transfer.... let's see how many of the 7 will stick around after getting passed up by 3 the hard way. Not to mention LB is a position where we lose the most guys to injuries...

Look at that list. Several deadweight guys and potential transfers.

I could easily see a scenario where we just clean house. We keep the top 4 (Grace, Young, Owens, Perry), retain the 3 FR to be the nucleus of the next generation and Gayot if he's healthy, and get rid of the rest. Which should open a minimum of 3 spots for this year's class. If Gayot gets a medical hardship, we could see a class of 4.

The only caveat...what does Diaz want to do? If we truly are only looking for 2, that tells me we could be running a ton more 2 LB formations than the 3LBs we're all assuming.

Two great LBs is ideal. If you can get 3 then so be it. I can really see Richt Loading up on the DL.
I wouldn't be surprised if Smith/Mcgray move positions or transfer which may free up a spot. Shaq, Zach, and Mike will all turn into Monsters IMO.

Maybe a lot of hybrid 4-2-5

Wilder and Steed are faster than 1/2 of our Safeties...

Based on Finleys size and speed (or lack thereof for a safety) it wouldnt surprise me if he moves down into the box a bunch or ends up full time at LB as well.

Thumbs up-Straight line speed and playing speed can be different. Some guys can harness it other cannot. Some have to come to a near standstill to cut and others can do it without loosing anything. I love the way Finley can set him self and explode into the ball carrier. I understand he has not been running track that long.

FWIW Josh Jobe was on Campus with Henderson when he committed, Both Henderson and Jobe talked up Bandy but were told although he's a dog, he doesn't fit what they are looking for.
