People are hoping to hack off the limbs of a patient with a brain tumor.

Fear not, though, I remember many said Randy was going nowhere up until his final days here.

Jesus H. Christ, Al Golden is just retarded enough to lose Tim Irvin, not even Randy would've lost a legacy player like Irvin, and now all of a sudden he wants to fire D'onofrio, too little, too late

Al Golden is just Trolling us all at this point

shut up.. dummy ONion lost plenty of legacy and bit time commits.. Please stop the foolishness. lmaoooo look at the 2009 class.. and the start to 2011 was atrocious.. but let me sip my tea while you continue to spread lies on the board. carry on WAYNE!!

Let's say Golden stays, fire D'Onofrio and then hires someone to run his 3-4 with a more attacking mentality....where do we net out?

If this is true EPIC FAIL. This is the absolute worse case scenario.

Firing Donuts does nothing. So Fat Al hires another ******* to run HIS defense? GTFOH.

This guy is 100% convinced HIS defense is the way to go. Nevermind we have 3.5 years (and counting) of evidence proving beyond any doubt it is a complete failure. The entire planet sees the situation except the one guy who can change it. And our admin is cool with all this??? Boggles the mind.

So Fat Al cripples the program for another year and nothing changes.

How on earth can this be happening? Is this real?

**One of the main questions that Miami fans have had is whether or not Blake James would “force” Al Golden to fire Mark D’Onofrio and if it would cost Golden his job if he refused to do so. On that note, we have speculated on whether or not Golden has total control over assistant coach moves. Per DMoney, there is a clause in his contract that gives him that power. If Golden wants D’Onofrio to stay, he will. If he wants him gone, then he will fire him.

**Sources tell CanesInSight that at this point it is nearly impossible to envision a scenario where D’Onofrio is back next season. Golden and D’Onofrio have not been on the same page this season and their relationship has become strained. Many believe that Golden has become frustrated at D’Onofrio’s ability to run the defense and beyond that he is not a guy who most in the building like to work with on a daily basis.

**A source added that Golden knows what the perception is like in the media and he is not deaf to what is being said. He knows the pressure is on and needs to take some sort of action. With that being said, if D’Onofrio and Golden both return next season (again, very unlikely), look for multiple changes to occur on the assistant coaching staff. Like This current defensive staff will be drastically different next season, one way or another.

**The sense I get from talking to a number of people about Golden’s job security is that it would take some sort of major collapse for him to lose the job next season. With a number of tough games left on the schedule, that is not necessarily out of the question, but as of right now my guess is that Golden will be the Head Coach next season with a new defensive coordinator.

**Every recruiting cycle, Miami fans look for a national prospect that they can dream about landing. The kid this year should be Marcus Lewis because the Canes believe like they are squarely in the picture for him. Miami continued to recruit Lewis even after he had committed to UF and that hard work is paying off. This would potentially be the best recruiting effort of Paul Williams’ career if he could pull it off.

**On the other hand, Tim Irvin continues to look less and less likely. Him and Miami have grown farther apart over the past few weeks. Irvin was in attendance for the Killian-Gables game where Canes coaches were present, and I’m told that Irvin was upset that Miami coaches had not yet been to one of his games this year. Generally Miami focuses on the out of state guys so the coaches can focus on local games down the stretch, so I still expect Williams to get to one of his games in the near future.

**There was talk this week about whether or not Thurston Armbrister was a junior or senior because he is listed as a senior although he only played two games as a freshman. I can confirm that he is a senior and this will be his last season.

LOL!! I love it when these high school kids get in a snit because a college coach hasn't given him enough attention. When did they become such divas? I don't remember recruiting being like this even ten years ago.

If golden were the head coach at ped state and Tim irvin was john cappelleti's son, do you think golden would go all in to land him?

You bet your *** he would.

Good thing for us is that we are gonna collapse. We win next weekend but after that every game is a toss up except FSU which will be a route. We can easily finish 6-6 or worse especially if the team quits which there have been signs to this already.

Hit Al groh's entrance music

FML. This is my NIGHTMARE scenario. But I have a REAL bad feeling about this.

I always suspected in the end, even if he had someone else do it, Donofrio would have to go to save Golden's career.

People here are kidding themselves that ****canning Golden is a done deal this year. With Shalala retiring, there is an easy out for her to just pass the buck on him. And Golden still had the "coach bloodbath" card left to play. Sounds like that will be in play. Though I suppose he could totally collapse the rest of the season and make the move unavoidable. I said from the beginning I thought it was maybe about a 35% chance he would get the axe this year even with a bad season. Just too much money on the table left, and Shalala now outgoing, going to be REAL hard to get him out this year.

I would not be surprised to see Donofrio go before the season is over though. If he gets desperate enough, I think that will be his go to move, in order to salvage recruiting.

Well I didn't expect to make a decision to not renew season tickets this early but oh well.

That assistant's clause doesn't hold that much water. Goldie could simply be told to waive it, or they're both gone. Then do it.

Major collapse? It's definitely doable and TRENDING!

Absolutely correct. All we have to do is trust the process here. This should all take care of itself.

Lol at people thinking Golden would hire a guy like Butch. People would be calling for Golden's head as soon as something went wrong saying Butch needs to be HC. He's not going to hire competition for his job. Also if coach No D gets fired, it still won't matter. Golden will hire some idiot to come and coach Golden's D....

Anyone still want to talk **** about those who chose to root for Cinci??

JESUS H CHRIST GO BEARCATS!

Que "That's Racist Shannon vs Golden" campaign

I read the OP...and I take one conclusion from all of that.

Anyone not rooting for losses is either a total ******* moron or doesn't really care about the Canes.

The only way change is going to happen is if all **** breaks loose.

Let it start this Saturday....let's go Cincy.

Peter...

I've been told pretty much the same things in terms of a collapsing season would be what gets him fired. I've heard 6-6 with the following three losses being by ten points or more would constitute that. What have you heard would equate to a, "total collapse," because now both you and DMoney have described that as trending in the direction of him getting fired.
