Wasn't there 5 kids that all had the same name in the recent past at WR? One was at Lakeland I believe.... Any of them do anything in college yet?

TrumpyCane thinks it would be a bad look if can't land an elite DE after seeing Mesidor and Bain this year
Agree also think JT is building a nice rep and we might be moving up the list as far as portal destinations

A winning team with an NFL HOF coach at your spot is looking good for a kid that wants to nail the last step

I know we like paying for known commodities in the portal at QB, but it feels like we’re settling for Coleman. Especially when it’s said multiple times he was outplayed by Baby Jesus at the state title. Wish they woulda kicked the tires on Henderson from Houston.

I was at that game and I wouldn't say he was outplayed by Toney (who btw, was more than serviceable at QB. i really hope we have some gadget plays drawn up for him).

It's kinda shocking DC's team even made it to the championship game when you saw them on the field next to AH. It was basically just him and Brown. Kid pretty much willed his team for 4 Quarters against a vastly superior opponent.

Nonetheless, I am a proponent of taking the best Portal Qb every year.

We'd be taking a portal QB regardless of whether we thought Coleman was the next Cam. And Coleman is not a "settle" by any means. He's the goods.

Dt recruiting is still less than ideal
So far Mario has shown if he can’t get them in hs he’ll stack through the portal so hopefully there will be another David blay type in the portal this year

Agree. I thought we all decided to quit doubting this man when it comes to player aquisition.

No matter who he adds or how many, a portal DT is still gonna be a priority. We will be super young in that room after losing Blay & Moten. Scott, Simpson, Russell, Jones, Newton, and the rest true freshmen. Need someone else in the room with 3-4 years of experience.

Yea but no more jags
This is the first year we got the top portal dt
Before that it was all jags
Even the guy last year was a jag hence he was undrafted and his teammate was first round and should have been the one we went all on in

you think Moten is forgoing his final year next year?

He was part of 2022 transition class so unless he redshirted without my knowledge he has no eligibility left. And he has a child too so that likely pushes him out.

he redshirted, he's a RS JR

Even if he has eligibility I wouldn’t count on him staying. He’s playing well and I think the schedule gets easier for him so he could get a decent draft grade. Not there yet but it could happen. We need at least a couple portals DTs unless Blount goes all in as a DT, which I doubt.

Experienced dt like him probably gets a good chunk in nil from Miami so maybe with the kid that’s a factor if more development could help him

Agreed. Coleman is talented but it's hard to imagine it working in big time college football.

There really isn't an analogue for a guy built like him leading him far into the playoffs, which should be the expectation these days.

i think he is a good player but if he leaves he will be an UDFA.
