How concerned should we be about the offense? Seems like there is some struggles 2 weeks into camp. Don’t want to overreact cause the season is on the way and the ultimately will prove everything but doesn’t seem like anyone is separating besides restrepo and TVD.
I believe that Skinner and Arroyo can’t be consistently bottled up by a defense. They don’t need to be schemed open. One of the two (even when Mallory is in) will be open at some point, every play.

Below are some notes on yesterday's scrimmage based on numerous conversations with sources:

- Overall, the offense looked sharper than last scrimmage, although the defense won the day. Tyler Van Dyke had better pockets and was driving the ball. He had a long pass down the middle to Xavier Restrepo along with a TD to Elijah Arroyo.

- With the room depeleted by injuries, walk-on RBs Devon Perry and Terrell Walden II had moments to shine. Perry in particular looked explosive with a 50+ yard TD run. Thad Franklin also had some slippery runs between the tackles.

- The throw of the day was a corner route TD from Jake Garcia to Jacolby George.

- The top overall performer on the day may have been freshman CB Chris Graves. He had at least four pass breakups and continues to tackle with physicality. He is young for his grade and the arrow is still pointing up.

- Jaleel Skinner had several nice catches-and-runs along with a TD in red zone work.

- The wide receivers had some drops and continued to have issues making big plays downfield in contested situations. However, Gattis seems to be doing a better job of scheming players open for chunk plays (especially Restrepo).

- Nyjalik Kelly and Leonard Taylor made nice plays in the backfield.

- The linebackers had another good day, with Caleb Johnson looking the best of the group. Chase Smith continues to flash unique twitch and strike ability, especially as a blitzer.

- Anez Cooper continues to flash with several pancake blocks.

- Malik Curtis got some opportunities with the ones and showed big-time speed running down Restrepo and preventing a TD.

- Justice Oluwasun is battling Logan Sagapolu at RG and got significant work with the 1s. He’s also getting work at RT.
Thanks as always @DMoney . I need u to repeat what u wrote about LT56 so these fools who swore he wouldn’t be a starter can see

Well considering Mallory will be the starter I'm sure he'll "be in". LOL

As I’ve said months ago “ Skinner needs to be with the wr‘s“. We’re three deep at te.
Do we know if this is something being seriously considered internally? What about brashard getting some burn at rb?

This is a new Era with an elite staff top to bottom but if history tells us anything it’s that if we’re hearing struggles on greentree it’s 1000% translating to game days.

Maybe Mario breaks this curse/trend we’ve had here but with anything in this program….. when there’s smoke there’s fire.

Kid weighs 210 so while he may be listed as a TE chances are he will basically be a stand up TE which is more WR than TE.

I might have to start editing this into your Bank OP’s:

Oh for sure the TEs and RBs are going to be an asset to the running game but you need WRs to stretch the field. We can’t play in a phone booth. And if you’re relying on the 3rd TE on the roster, you’ll be disappointed. George, I believe, might be suspended for the first game or 2.
I look at it this way...our WRs are facing Tyrique Stevenson and JWill20 and AL Blades etc on Greentree. Our DB room is absolutely above blue chip ratio.

Our WRs getting punished right now imo will actually benefit them during the season.

This right here. The DL and secondary is the best it’s been in FOREVER. We have a true first rounder at CB in Stevenson. The receivers are good, but **** one side of the field is always on lockdown. There’s no true number one, but you’re not getting him free if there is. We have a great coaching staff and depth. It’s most telling that the best receiver is out of the slot.
I love Stevenson but he’s more likely mid round unless he puts a lot more on tape this season. He’s not projected anywhere near that high as of yet.
