TE Brock Schott signs with the Canes

There might not be a better pure football player in this class than TE Brock Schott. The 6’3, 215-pound Leo, Indiana native played all over the field, accumulating 19 receiving TDs, 2 rushing TDs, 69 TFLs and 49 sacks in his high school career. He also plays basketball.

Schott combines excellent speed (4.6) with motor and physicality. Notre Dame offered him as a LB, and he projects as an instant contributor on special teams. On offense, he has the ability to line up wide while also playing an H-back role similar to Elija Lofton. He is particularly dangerous on screens, where he uses his straight-line burst to get upfield in a hurry. The four-star prospect chose the Canes over Ohio State.

While the comparison is likely unfair, his playing style is similar to former Georgia TE Brock Bowers.

Dear god this kid is a freak of nature. If he has even any receiving skills at all this will be fun to watch. And breaking the squat record as a true freshman considering the tight ends we’ve had here before? So for example this freshman kid squats more than upperclassmen shockey njoku etc?

I just spoke with a certain former nfl tight end who played at UM, and his exact words were: “this kid has the same first name as Brock bowers, and his last name is good for puns.”
