After the FSU game I was truly believe the team had fully quit on the season and there was too many bad eggs in the locker room

This game while not being amazing showed there is still quite a few players who care and when they play there is a difference… really happy to see it
Yessir!! trust me you dont see the bad apples on the field staff is refusing to play some. One being 1 of the best KR in the nation who no longer is even back there that tells you something.

Nice concise write up, well done. It’s tough at times but gratifying to see true leaders step up, face adversity, and kick it in its teeth. Others will start and have started to follow. That’s something that’s been sorely missed here for a long time. Kudos to those leaders as they are the bedrock for all things about to come.
Thank you for checking it out! Those players lay the foundation for what the cristobal era is going to become

Great work. My only complaint about Rooster is that he keeps the ball in his right hand. Not only does that make it easier to strip when running left, but he also can’t use his right hand to stiff arm the defender.
Ideally you want to switch to the outside hand but on those split zone plays its so hard to switch cause you could be in traffic I think they are fine with him just putting two hands on it. He had a broken wrist all of spring and most of fall camp they haven't really been able to rep ball security with him since so much injuries to him and the other backs

I've been saying this. It is part of the process. Getting players to elevate their play and play more physical and aggressive while being disciplined. Time to separate men from boys. Everyone wants to fire the coaches every other game ( and I agree maybe one or two need to go) but if the culture doesn't change it will always be the same problem . Our coaching carousel in the last 15 yrs supports my statement
Bingo break the bad habits but it takes time everyone was talking about how the culture was changed then boom TAMU game happen first sign of adversity they caved in. Build that toughness and mentality everyday then you start to see performances like this

Kam gave me Ed Reed vibes on Saturday. Not surprised at all to hear he is a hard worker, just like Ed Reed used to do here Kam seemed to know exactly where to be on every play.

Very happy for him. Hard work definitely paying off.

Part of the learning process… learning when they’re giving you too much eye candy. “This looks too good to be true” all comes with experience

Minus the 3 interceptions, they did what they should do against GT. Let's see if they can continue that this weekend.

Too often we confuse quit with negative momentum/morale. How many times have you seen a more talented team look weak and slow to a less talented team? Too many to count. Momentum is real.

It sounds cliche, but Mario’s mantra of keep working is the only way to break out of the rut.

Despite his faults, Mario is a leader. If he doesn’t give up, most of his kids won’t either.

Were you at the FSU game? Legit asking because I was and was watching the sideline more than the crap showing on the field… that team looked broken and seemed like it spent all week going their the motions and we’re being forced to show up for the game

Huge difference in effort

Yeah, it can look bad.

But people were on here saying Mario had lost the team and the players have no heart.

Saturday showed none of that is the case. We have had a myriad of coaching, execution, and discipline issues that snow balled into some god-awful performances.

People forget this same group didn’t quit on Manny and he isn’t anywhere near the leader Mario is. We got caught in a spiral of negative momentum, but we kept working and broke out with a solid performance. Finally got something we can build on. That matters.

That was by far the hardest Rooster has run in his entire career. Kid really ran ****ed off. If we can get that version of him and some increased ball security, I would absolutely take him back next year.
He definitely ran hard as heck on Saturday....but let's not forget, Jaylan has always been a hard runner for his size. Last year at FSU when he scored on that long screen, the defender laid a pretty big hit, Knighton just shook it off an kept running to the endzone. There's been so many times over the last couple of years when I seen him running and I catch myself thinking "****, this dude is tough and absorbs contact well for his size".

Kam Kinchens had a historic game with 8 total tackles & 3 Interceptions 1 which was returned for a 99 yard TD.

We have all expected greatness from Kam since his days at MNW. Earlier in the year vs MTSU, UNC his eyes got him in trouble leading to multiple BIG plays even though in both games those same eyes lead him to a INT. The staff challenged him to continue to be aggressive but within the structure of the defense to limit the risk. Coach Cristobal when watching film late at night stated "I think I have the building to myself and then I see kam it's like he is trying to outwork me"

Jaylan Knighton has been electric in a canes uniform however as canes fans know he can be prone to Ball Security issues. After 3 fumbles in 4 games the coaching staff sent a message to rooster by sitting him all UVA game and only 4 carries vs FSU (one went for longest run of the season for 45 yards). With Parrish out vs GT the team leaned on Rooster who showed his explosiveness while running with TOUGHNESS & PHYSICALITY but most importantly TWO HANDS on the football at any point of contact.

We need to get better results going forward and play the best guys.
