Still say this is Perrys job to lose.Richt is gonna give this kid every chance he can to take the job.
That's why he went against the ones ( as is being reported) cause I think Richt wanted to see how he held up mental wise not necessarily how he played.Unless Rosier or Sherfiffs is head and shoulders above him I think the first game will be split between he and whoever,he gets most of the second and he's taking the start in the Nole game.
This is just my opinion of course and this will all change if he sh*ts the bed in all of the scrimmages and Rosier or Evan force Richt hand .But I just think CMR wants him back there and he will be given every opportunity to win the job...again jmo.

Fair to say Weldon will be cut out from the qb race officially shortly. Down to the Malik, sherriffs and perry for the job imo based on the scrimmage and practices. Nkosi got to continue pushing and come on strong during the next scrimmage
If Perry has another rough outing in scrimmage #2 , and Evan and Malik have another good day, then from that point on it should be an Evan and Malik battle. Perry is going to be an incredible qb, in my opinion, but we simply cannot afford to waste this defense and probably Walton's last year on a True Freshman who isn't ready. That being said, it's too early to tell.
Richt mentioned he needs to thin the QB competition race so we will see. Too close to the season to have 4 QBs play in scrimmages.
in the post game interview he said he is going to start narrowing it down quickly for more continuity. Perry needs to improve fast from this performance because this looks like a 2 horse race between Rosier and Sheriffs at least to start the opener.

Either way your sacrificing a game or two if you start Perry. When the **** hits the fan on the road on ESPN true frosh QB's just see colors out there. And 13 or 14 of them are on defense.

It's always the same during scrimmages, one side does better than the other and panic sets in. Relax the defense is going to be fine.

Not surprised by this... Sherrifs and Rosier have been in Richts system for almost a year and a half now and should have a leg up on a true freshman

In the other thread, someone said they mixed it up. All three had chances against the 1st and 2nd teams.

He might have been and not paying attention. Rosier completed two long TDs that might've been situational as they weren't driving from the 25 but it wasn't short yardage/red zone stuff. Unless Young and Dean have been demoted the long TD to Richards wasn't against third string players.

Richt said yesterday that they would start with the first team d vs 2nd team O first today. Brooklyndee already confirmed that perry got most of his work earlier so that means against mostly the #1 defense. Richt said today every qb got a least a rep with the 1s and 2s
This. Even if Williams could go, this board would have melted down had they pulled the "future" late in this season, but now since everyone hates Kaaya history is evolving.

I think my logic was perhaps misinterpreted. I'm actually quite fine with the stats on both sides. But I get more excited to see good defense numbers than offense. Im not worried one bit whatsoever.
