Purdue DT Branson Deen Transfers to Miami

Might have disrespected his game a little.

He's constantly moving and plays hard on every rep you'll see on the highlights. Seems to bring a lot of energy every snap. If you've got enough of these types of guys, your need for this massive humans lessens a bit.

High activity interior guys are often the types that are incredible effective and valuable despite not coming up on the stat sheet.

It is hard to quantify a players impact when they are drawing holding penalties (because you're very active and overwhelm the offensive lineman with constant activity) or pressures you aren't credited for as you are playing your assignment and making the quarterback either break contain or move/adjust the pocket.

From what little you can see, this guy does the aforementioned a little more than most of the players on our roster last year.

Still wish Jordan Miller had stayed, not sure why he left for SMU.
I concur

The staff must have really not liked him and he kinda sensed that or they told him that even with Jackson gone...He was looking at the #3 or #4 DT role?

It’s LT’s time to take the next step. He has to take this more serious and become a more consistent player.
LT had flashes where he looks like an all-American, but then disappears. You hit the nail on the head with consistency and it’s totally his time to step up. It’s a money year to build his draft stock.

That's one option the other option is having a LB usually a Will who is able to handle taking on an OL in the run game and very aggressive and tackle sound with at least average coverage ability, which again, is a unicorn.
Whew. Asking to have a WLB who can take on blocks, run, chase, cover.

That might be tougher to find than a 1T who can rush the passer.

People inside the building say he knows it’s his money year and he is looking at it that way.

His junior year was always the year to get the “Willis year.”

Let’s hope that happens.

You would be absolutely be correct.
I think they're equally tough to find, cause essentially they are both first round NFL players haha

I haven’t seen a word about Deen since January - is he a summer enrollee and if so when is that? I see he’s still not on the roster so I assume that’s the case.

So an hour before a 4-star recruit announces, you just HAAAAAD to bump a thread that has the words "Bat Signal Up" in the subject line.

I swear to christ, some of you guys are seriously passive-aggressive nutjobs. Doing weird **** at all the wrong times to low-key troll and be the center of attention....

Yes, RIGHT NOW is the perfect time to act like Brandon Deen hasn't been enrolled at Miami for the last 6 months...

Good lord...

Deen injured his shoulder just before the Spring game and had to miss time after getting it cleaned up.

Coaches honestly believe they stole one here as he’s been even better than they evaluated him. They believe he’s going to make an All-ACC team this year.

Guidry runs a ton of five-man fronts with two 3T on the DL and that causes issues for the OL since traditionally the C has to reach that 3T one gap over and now you’ve got two penetrators that can get into a gap before a C can reach.

Before he was hurt, Deen was the player mentioned the most as the transfer impressing the most.

I expected him to start next to LT and read good things. Was bummed we didn't get to see him in the Spring Game. I had no idea coaches liked him that much.
