Maybe I misheard or am reading into what Frankie said but when Mauigoa was discussed he said "hopefully we stick it out and no matter where we go we either play together or continue our bond/friendship".

Seemed a little wishy washy....

yeah if he said that, doesn't sound very good.

Yes. The in-season stuff won't be as dramatic, but they know the problem runs deeper than a couple guys not executing.
If Mario and Zo truly realize that this offensive philopshy doesnt work then there is hope.

Hopefully Mario pulls a page from the saban playbook and brings in a failed HC to rehab as OC IE: Mullen or imho the best case scenario Scott Frost. Any chances of that here @DMoney ?

I think the natural question is why did they need to see it in-season (against mostly poor teams) to make those changes? This wasn't that difficult to predict. It's basically most people's offseason concerns (re: offensive approach) coming to reality during the first 4 (Bethune doesn't count) games. I'd be happy with a genuine change, but remain curious about how it even got to that point and if the underlying reason for not proactively addressing it still remains.

***I realize no one except a handful next to Mario have that answer. But, for the sake of the discussion...

That sounds no bueno. Pessimist side of me says that decoms coming if stuff doesn’t drastically change.

The most obvious answers are usually the correct ones.

The obvious answer being they thought Tyler would be able to handle the change to a system that relies more on the QB to make the correct read and go through progressions and that the arm talent and moxie from last yr would translate

The idea on here that some people think Bama is running some super simple one read air raid passing offense with Bryce Young is hilarious. O'Brien's scheme puts more on Young that what Gattis is asking TVD to do. Everyone keeps saying, "Saban evolved, why can't Mario?!!" Do these people even watch Bama's offense? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills on here sometimes.

Found that interesting.

When all of the commits posted after the loss reaffirming their commitment, was Francis one of them? Dont recall seeing his.

The running 'secret playbook' joke where we were hopeful that what we were seeing wasn't the actual O kept everyone from jumping on the staph, but ya, it was obvious from the Spring that this O was straight garbage and was not putting the players in a position to be aggressive and attack the other team. Question remains, if arm chair QBs could see it, why have they been so slow to adapt???

It was predictable. I can’t remember if I was one of those who foolishly hoped Enos had some super secret playbook he was waiting to spring open. Glad to see there’s really none of that false hope here. Gattis is what he appears to be.

Best case scenario: TVD looked great in practice and things were working (even if we all knew of the WRs problem).
Worst case scenario: stubborness and denial.
