Off topic but meant to ask Pete. Mayes, is he a Miami caliber player from what you have seen?

What is a Miami caliber player?.... If the staff offer hea a caliber player..... You say you back Golden then question his moves..... Jmo....

Apparently, he thinks Pete is better situated to determine which players are Miami caliber than our coaching staff is.

Fluffers then?

I prefer Guys Who Think UM's Coaches Are In a Better Position To Determine Which Recruits Are UM Caliber Than Pete. We also go by the acronym GWTUCAIABPTDWRAUCTP. The acronym isn't the slightest bit unwieldy.

Struck a nerve? Why so sensative, thought it was a harmless question.
It was a poor question directed at a dude unqualified to answer it. But you are a million miles from striking a nerve. I was hopeful that a few people would be able to decipher the absurdity of the acronym and see it for the joke it was. Not all that surprised you didn't pick up on it.

It was a question for a person that has seen the kid. I try and do my research. I get u don't think Pete is fully qualified, I would agree with you, but I thought to ask. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. He is the one recruit that you would think many would have questions about, along with the kid from Dillard.

Is Mayes college ready and does he look like a guy who could play day 1? No. He has a lot of work to do, but if the staff feels comfortable at DB for the next few years then it's not a horrible take. Like I said, he needs to be coached up, but it's not like they're taking a kid who lacks physical ability.

My good Buddy who coached the winning team (Tampa) at the IMG Academy tournament specifically mentioned Campbell and Rudolph. Said Rudolph is so smooth and a big time play maker.

If I had to choose two more receivers to go with Langham.....who is going to be a cot **** beast, I would pick Lane and Rudolph. Rudolph has been my guy for a long time.

Unfortunately I don't think we get either. Dixon is up there too and JoJo so yeah this senior season for these guys is going to be cutthroat.

Rudolph to me will go down to the wire and I think it comes down to UGA, Auburn and UM I hope we get him but won't have my hopes up

Yeah history is not on our side. He committed way too early and was wavering almost immediately once he started to blow up. Usually an SEC school is the result there but we are still in it, no doubt.

Pete is better situated than someone who has never seen these guys play and automatically defers to the coaches.

Of course the coaches are more qualified to evaluate players. This is their profession. But that doesn't mean they're always right. The great thing about increased recruiting coverage and HUDL videos is that fans now have more information to form their own opinions. The boards disagreed with Coker for passing on Santonio Holmes and they killed Shannon for passing on guys like Jayron Hosely and Ryan Shazier. Turns out they were right.

Golden isn't Shannon or Coker, but he's had misses like everyone else. And saying that the "coaching staff knows better" ignores the fact that a coaching staff is not always unanimous on a player.

The point of this board is to give you guys the information to form your own opinions, and the forum to express those opinions.

D, when are we going to get this board capable of HUDL links? Not a huge deal but just curious.

There are people who work(ed) with HUDL on here that can answer this better than me, but I think they are protected against it. They have really been doing a great job of cornering that market.

I think it was all about the position disagreement honestly. I think he's still very interested in UM and with possibly Dixon and his dad in his ear it will be very very close in the end
