Miami Opens Up As A Ginormous Favorite Over FAMU

After dominating the Stanford Cardinal 45-6, the Miami Hurricanes can officially say that they're 1-0 to start the 2026-27 college football season. However, the team will be turning the page quickly to host in-state foe, FAMU Rattlers next Thursday.

On Saturday morning, FanDuel Sportsbook released next weekend's odds as the Hurricanes have opened up as a ginormous 53.5-point favorite over the Rattlers. The over/under is set at 60.5. So far this season, the Hurricanes are 1-0 against the spread, covering against the Cardinal.

FAMU is also 1-0 on the season, downing Albany State 20-7. Starting quarterback Isaiah Knowles completed 14 of his 23 passes while adding one score against the Golden Rams. Running back Jamal Hailey stuffed the stat sheet rushing for 54 yards on 16 attempts.

Based on how Miami's offense looked in the win over Stanford. This should be an easy cover for the Hurricanes, though it's worth noting that head coach Mario Cristobal likes to ease off in the fourth quarter against FCS foes. Cristobal is 3-5 against the spread when playing an FCS opponent.

Miami could put 100+ on this team if Mario wanted to. Waste of time honestly. Only benefit is FAMU getting that check. It’ll be a 42-7 type game.

2nd and 3rd strings should be getting plenty of PT the first 2 months of the season.

Willie Simmons isn’t there anymore i don’t think Mario knows this new guy but the score depends on how well our 2nd and 3rd string guys play in the 2nd half

He should save that juice for FSU and Clemson. Put the final nail in the coffin for that jackasss in Tally and Dabo. I want pinball numbers against those ******* clowns. Absolute annihilation.

Idk if we’ll cover. But I think Mario would like to see Toney or Mensah win the Heisman. So I’ll think we might see more of the show than maybe some expect

I have to feel bad for the FAMU players.

FAMU is playing tonight (Sunday) at Hard Rock in that HBC preseason bowl game. Then staying in Miami to play the Canes on (Thursday) on three days rest. Four days between games.

That's kinda bull****.

It might be a little more but not much more. I can a see a pitch count for both of 30 min playing time or 4 TDs - whichever comes first.

Would like to see us pitch a shut out on defense. When you look back historically, almost every team to win a national championship in the last 25 or so years has recorded at least one shutout during the season. Unsurprisingly a lot of these (but not all) come against FCS opponents.

Other than that I want to see:
-Mensah/Mali/Barkate done by half
- lots of touches for the backs other than Fletch
- active pass rush with plenty of sacks
- lots of the back up LBs
- hopefully no significant injuries

I’m sure Mirabal will have all kinds of combos going for this one too.

And Rush hour traffic be damned, I’ll be there in person

As much as everyone wants the starters to be out by halftime (which is fair), we need to boost the stats of our 2 stars so they can compete for the Heisman.

Mensah needs another 400 yards and 4-5 TD passes, and Toney needs another 150+ and 2-3 TDs.

I do want the other guys to eat too tho.

I want some defensive highlights too. Get the defense feeling confident.
