Ervin should be a 4 star player. He runs his feet very well and when he’s engaged you aren’t getting out. He does allow for defenders to get into his body but his core allows for him to over power anyone who does get inside. I’d like to see him shoot his hands on contact more. That over powering works in high school at his size/frame but that won’t always be the case on the college level. His play speed isn’t as fast in his Junior highlight reel compared to the spring game clips which tells me his has put in work in the offseason to better his craft. His base can get narrow as he drives defenders (usually into the dirt). That can get widened out with Mirabal for sure. Not a ton of pass sets in the highlight reel. His kick looks decent but he isn’t shooting his hands, once again allowing rushers into his chest. He just so **** powerful. @DMoney this kid can be great. I think he’s a Guard. He’s high but at 6’7 he’s not straight up and down.

I told you I’d give you a legit breakdown and this is it.
Did you do one of these for Cantwell? I'd love to read it.

SJ. But taking him out the equation for fairness because he’s a C prospect..it might actually be CICi who is “only” 6’5. 🤣
Definitely a big difference between a Mario OL prospect compared to what we did before. In the past we took a lot of undersized OL with the hopes of getting them in the weight room and etc. With Mario we take a bunch of oversized OL recruits with the hopes of coaching them up and so far it's worked wonders. Outside of his year 1 recruiting and portal class he made on the fly the only possible Whiff has been Samson Okunlola and it's still possible he could become a starter in 2025. If he can't beat out Ryan Rodriguez at Guard he probably needs to transfer.

Feels like for 20 years before Mario we’d take someone that was 6-5 or 6-6 but they’d be 240 and we would try to put 80 lbs on them as well

That’s a 150 lb corner that he had a running start at. I don’t think this signifies anything. This shouldn’t be a hype piece…
I am just noticing this post, but this post alone needs a bump. How can you watch that clip and this is what you take from it??

I'm baffled, astonished, shocked, and nauseated. **** of a PoRsT.

Go read the rest of the thread please and thank you.
I did. And was going to delete the post after doing so.. but it is still startling that your initial post drew that conclusion.

Anyways, my apologies for bringing this up again and I am by no means an expert at much of anything so my opinion really carries no substance at all.
