People want to see how we handle prosperity this year. We sh*t the bed in the middle of the season last year and only got in because we beat ND head to head. We need convincing road victories against Wake and Clemson and, of course, the Trap Game at Chapel Hill.
Where the horse**** comes in. Can see some love for Georgia and Indiana, they have lived up to their billing the way we have.
An issue with rankings is that they keep pace with what is presented as the aggregate before them, instead of, “I have my top 25 preseason and then I’m adjusting based on merit from where I had ‘scouted’ and ‘ranked’ each of these to be at the onset of the season.”
If Ohio State was my #5 and Texas my #6 before the season and after Week 1 then I have a clear metric where they should move to; instead most of these folks (who don’t pay attention) is reacting to the new poll weekly to decide up and down.

We are only 14 points behind Indiana. If Indiana has any struggles in the next couple of weeks, all we would need is for 8 voters to flip their Miami-Indiana rankings and we would move to #4.

The context is that we’re sensitive to a long term bias that turns into a beauty contest late in the season over who gets selected into the CFP. A bunch of 3 loss SEC and BiG teams will try to jump a 2 loss or even a 1 loss ACC team based on their strength of schedule which is influenced by these early polls.

The more disrespect Miami gets as that game approaches, the better for our locker room.
It’s better if we sneak up on people in December and January. I want those people in Austin and Columbus to be shocked again.
I mean we beat the ****ers convincingly last year and they were arguing until the last second that they should have been ahead of us, so I wouldn't hold your breath.
