Miami Jumps Up To No. 5 In Latest AP Poll

Following Miami's 77-7 dominant performance against the FAMU Rattlers, the Hurricanes have moved up to the No. 5 spot in this week's AP Poll.

Last week, the Hurricanes were ranked as the nation' No. 7 team in the country. However, the college football gods came down on the Ohio State Buckeyes after they choked in the second half against the new No. 1 team, the Texas Longhorns. The Oregon Ducks also stumbled, dropping out of the top-five following a loss to Oklahoma State.

There are a total of four ACC schools inside the top-25: Miami (5), SMU (16), Louisville (23), and Virginia (25). Check out the full top-25 down below:

Not sure how Louisville is behind Oregon.

One barely loses to a Top 10 team that is a still a Top 10 team, the other barely wins Week 1 vs an unkranked above average Big12, then lose to an unranked average Big 12 and is still ranked.

Rankings are very frustrating, so quick to move some up (Alabama) and others not so much, both us an Indiana should be top 2, both teams have done nothing to prove we still aren't the best teams out there.

These preseason and early rankings affect the late season stuff which is stupid.

UVA should be 6-0 when they play SMU, so i expect them to continue to rise in the rankings, same with Louisville, only loss is a maybe vs SMU.

We'll see how it shakes out.

Hahaha I don't think our conference is particularly strong. We're a one headed monster with Miami up top and some above average squad with strong coaching prowess with Lashlee, Brohm, Narduzzi, Franklin, that allow them to punch above their weight in talent.

I look at the NCAA in totality, and there are definite Tiers. They go for 4 or 5 pending the years. Right now, its Miami, Indiana, LSU, (maybe Texas since they beat OSU even though I think OSU top 10 team type).

I think we'll see a stronger SEC this year as the cycle happens, they've got some stronger QBS this year. Chambliss, Manning, Kamario, Simmons, Leavit, Stockton, Sellers.

While, the ACC, we have Mensah, Jennings, Kienholz, Hentschel, after that, they kinda suck haha
Big Tens got, Sayin, Hoover, Underwood, Maiava, Iamaleava, etc. i think they have better depth in QB, but less star power then SEC at the QB spot.

We are only behind Texas in first place votes, yet we're ranked 5th. It's pretty wild when you think about it.

UGA hasn’t even played a P4 team yet. No way to gauge how good they are, and we’ve already seen this year that perceptions of how good teams are before they start playing real games are often way off.

Ditto Indiana.
