Before i push play on this interview...how small town are we talking? Is he sounding like Xavier Leggette?

This is Mario’s 15th year as a Head Coach this is who he is. An elite recruiter but a horrible gameday coach.

I’m sure you were feeling great about Mario’s 17-3 record midway through the first half versus Stanford.

I’m not expecting Bill Walsh out there but for a guy that has been a head coach for that many years, I would expect a head coach would know how to run a two minute offense, know when to call timeouts, know when to kneel, etc.

It’s just frustrating that’s all I’m saying.
People said that about Butch

DTs- Sainteus, Stancil, Bacon, and Kennedy
DEs Charles, would love to add Quinn, and Tank Jones.

I think this is a realistic class maybe add Broughton as well, haven’t really watched his tape but I see a lot of people talk about him.

@DMoney where's the Bank, we making all these deposits. I figured you'd be a head of it.

Stancil took me by surprise when I got the call the day before he went public. Parris and Stewart were mentioned here a couple weeks ago:

Just saw him play against my Garner Trojans this past weekend. He is a big dude. Looks the part and will be a contributor quickly. Love it.
my college teammate played rb at garner back in early 2000s.

thank you sir, i know you mentioned another dt and Stewart seems to be picking up steam as well

His records at UNC and FIU prove how far a bad gameday coach gets you when Santana Moss and Ed Reed ain’t walking through that door to quote Rick Pitino.
I'm not sure those two examples necessarily work iin your favor of trying to make your point. UNC was a dumpster fire when Butch was hired there. John Bunting was the coach prior and he sucked. Like stunk. Butch put together the teams with TJ Yates at QB and Hakeem Nicks at WR along with some other guys who played on Sundays. FIU? I mean c'mon. Any coach who can put together a winning season at that school is decent in my book. I saw the Bill Walsh comment in response to the 17-3 record post earlier. I checked and I'm not so sure Bill Walsh ever had a 17-3 stretch, but I also was too lazy to go game by game.

To keep in the spirit of CiS hyperbole, I'm not trying to say Mario is the second coming of Vince Lombardi, but to say he's a horrible game day coach is a tad over the top. Take a breath - I'm not discounting the fail to kneel game. He deserves all he gets for that. I'm also not saying he is an alite game day coach because I'm not that stupid. Simply saying "sub-par", "needs to improve", "mediocre" or "isn't good" would be a little more fair. And no, Mario isn't my daddy or my owner and I'm not his b!tc.hboy.
