Miami flips four-star 2026 DT Keshawn Stancil from Clemson

The Miami Hurricanes continue to make waves in the recruiting world, flipping four-star DT Keshawn Stancil from Clemson.

A 6-foot-4, 280-pound North Carolina native, Stancil was largely off fans' radar following his commitment to Clemson earlier this summer.

He visited Miami during the first official visit weekend (5/30-6-1) with many believing that the Hurricanes would land his commitment right then and there, myself included.

However, Clemson made a late push and sealed the deal in late June following his visit.

But the UM staff kept working hard, not satisfied with their second place finish in his recruitment, and pounced on Stancil following the Tigers poor showing this season.

He’s the 3-tech lineman defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman absolutely loves, able to just wreck the game with his high motor. Stancil gets upfield well with raw power and huge upside as he hones in his technique.

So far this season Stancil has racked up 56 tackles and four sacks, with 15 of those tackles being TFL's --- violence with his effort on the line.

Stancil becomes Miami’s 25th commit in the 2026 class, joining a defensive line room of Asharri Charles, Anthony Kennedy Jr., Tyson Bacon and Frederic Sainteus.

The Hurricanes will look to continue to build their defensive line class as they push to flip five-star Oregon commit Tank Jones and Texas A&M commit Bryce Perry-Wright alongside four-star Alabama commit Nolan Wilson.

Like Stancil, other names previously thought of as “off the table” could be back on the cards for the 'Canes with more movement to come.

So much potential in NC. Keep it up.

NC sneakily puts out a lot of good DL prospects recently. Don't mind tapping in there at all for these types of kids.

You can always find big time players at QB, DL, LB, WR in NC. We had a run of RB’s for a while but that’s slowed down a ton.

This is Mario’s 15th year as a Head Coach this is who he is. An elite recruiter but a horrible gameday coach.

I’m sure you were feeling great about Mario’s 17-3 record midway through the first half versus Stanford.

I’m not expecting Bill Walsh out there but for a guy that has been a head coach for that many years, I would expect a head coach would know how to run a two minute offense, know when to call timeouts, know when to kneel, etc.

It’s just frustrating that’s all I’m saying.

Its 7A-8A. The same as the Charlotte kids we got committed

Glad we got a proven DT rather than rely on projects like Kennedy, Sainteus and Bacon.

I get it. And no I wasn’t feeling great first half against Stanford

I just keep the big picture in mind. We are winning more now than we have in the last 20 years.

Went to the South Garner game a couple of weeks ago. Their LT is going to Georgia and Ebenezer (DE) is going to Notre Dame. Not being able to pull kids from around Raleigh is one reason why they are about to can Doeren. There is talent here.

He’s gonna retire. But let’s be honest, State was never pulling elite kids from NC. No matter what area. Doesn’t matter who the coach is.
