Wild that your underwhelmed by that then
Where did I say I was underwhelmed? I said it’s the weirdest CV I’ve seen. 18 years as a clerk, sandwiched between stints at the same firm. That is not a big gun. That is someone with very little first chair experience.

Absolutely but if the WRs is gonna be our strength than let’s maximize it until we are in situations where we need to get TEs and extra OL involved. Dawson might finally get a HC job with this offense

I have no law background, but someone that does could you answer this for me? Would Duke University be going through all this if he had declared for the draft?

You don't know that she has very little first-chair experience. A lot would depend on the size of her firm, the size of her litigation group, and the types of clients she has represented. She might very well have a ton of first-chair experience.

For the lawyers on here:

Does there have to be some sort of ruling today one way or another or can they just let this expire and come 5 o’clock we know mensah/neither did not get approval for their request

The judge can chose to set it for hearing today, give it a date early this coming week or just kick the can down the road till the 2nd. It's been awfully quiet and nothing has been posted on the docket today to indicate a hearing was set today but alot of time the online docket can lag behind what's really happening.

I'm with you and find the choice perplexing. Perhaps she has strong relationship with the judge or she is not the only person at the firm actively involved?

For all we know, the hearing could be going on right now.

The motion called for two different kinds of remedies.

One would be a removal of the TRO, which could happen by an administrative order. The court would give both sides notice of such a thing happening, even if it takes a minute to get them the paperwork.

The other remedy was to have the hearing today, which miiiiight (?) be happening. Similar to the TRO hearing earlier this week, you would expect a relatively quick determination and announcement.

Of course, an ice storm could also be hitting the courthouse, and maybe everyone was sent home early.

If you're questioning who Heitner got involved here, just watch this video:

On the other hand, I wonder what kind of an event in a woman's life would last for 18 years that might make "federal court clerkship" sound like a pretty good life...

I've known a few folks from my UM Law class who have made this (or a similar) life choice.

We might have too much testosterone on this board.
