I'm actually a fan of both players…At least a fan of their floors, they won't hurt you let's put it that way. Bryant gave us some good snaps last season.
Their floors are based on if they can set the edge on run plays. Otherwise, we will need to run a 3/4 to get them in the field

I have him ahead of Bryant at Jack. If he was 230-240lbs, kid would be getting more reps

Loved Bryant when he committed, thought he could be special. He's good but seems to have topped out though.

If Lightfoot adds another 10-20, j could see him getting the start at DE next year. It would be interesting to see if Pickett could play WLB since he doesn’t appear to be adding weight.

The weight is not as big of a factor as its commonly made out to be. Brian Burns, Jason Taylor, etc were successful being under 230. He will be ready to start next year and play opposite one of the larger framed guys like Lowe or Blount.

Taylor has a yellow jacket. I understand it is possible but adding the weight/strength really does help.

He has added noticeable weight though. Its not a cyrus moss type situation where he can't grow. The first step & motor he has you cannot teach so if he tops out at 230 so be it, might affect his nfl future, but all we need is for him to help us win games right now.

If he tops out at 230, we will need some BIG bodies around him. Maybe run a 3/4. Otherwise, cfp level teams will run to his side often.

We wouldn’t want him labeled a JAG because he can’t stop the run vs CFP teams thus only plays 3rd downs.

Brian Burns is the perfect recent example. I remember when we were arguing on here if Burns or Joe Jackson were better. Burns was a twig and even if he somehow excelled in the college game he could never do at the next level. Turns out he could, as I just saw him bull rush a KC OL the other night and just bully them.

We haven't seen any evidence of him having issues stopping the run or tackling
I’ll rewatch the usf second half again. I know the 2s were drove on multiple times. I’m not sure if that was on Lightfoot alone or at all.

I’ll put my hand up. As I thought he would never make an impact with that frame here at Miami. But that was me just wishing every DE was 6’3 245+. He can excel at the roll he is in, I’m glad Heatherman is using him.

The 4th down tackle was phenomenal effort my him.

Tbh I think ML basically took Lowes snaps, I think they wanted Lowe there for the size speed and power combo. Pause
