This is great for the program, but it still feels lame as ****. I'm happy that Miami is gaining a legit player that will immediately boost the program, but it feels icky. Reneau went pro, participated in summer ball, there's no reason why he should be eligible to return. The NCAA has ruined college sports, all because they chose to kick the can down the road, instead of instituting common sense guidelines in regards to player compensation and movement, DECADES ago. Most players would have been fine with sensible NIL/compensation and one time, penalty free transfer rules 20+ years ago. The NCAA was greedy as **** and as a result, stuff like this is now possible.
Lets get that natty under out belt before we start bangin on the process. Everybody is playin with the same rules.

Everyone is playing with the same rules, still doesn't change how I feel about it. Like I said before, it's great for the program, it's great for us as fans(This team should be a legit contender for a Final Four berth with Reneau back), but it still feels a bit off. There's a difference between guys getting an extra year due to injury, or because of a global pandemic, and whatever this is. Guys are coming back from playing pro ball. That's the part that feels weird.
There's absolutely no reason why this should be a thing, and while I don't blame athletes for taking advantage of it(The NCAA's incompetence and greed led to this), eventually these student athletes have to realize they are delaying the inevitable. Reneau is eventually going to end up playing overseas, and that's fine.

I hear you man. Truthfully none of this feels great, football included, but in the words of an infamous liberal talk show host, "Take yes for an answer".

WELL 2012-2013 Was pretty stacked but the depth wasn't like this. That team was my favorite of all time. I'm still ****es they choked the way they did. But this team looks awesome on paper.

Going to wait for the official word before I prognosticate but Malik coming back would give us two elements that we still didn’t have on the roster:
1. A true go-to, late in game scorer that you can clear side of the floor out for and have him go get a bucket.
2. Floor spacing to slot between Shelton and Cyril. The volume wasnt high (~2 attempts per game) but he shot nearly 38% from 3 in ACC play last year.
Spending a summer playing with pros can’t be overlooked either
They didn’t choke, half the team got sick and Marquette had the night of their lives. It happens, hence why the NCAA Tournament is the worst way to determine a champion, but is the best entertainment product. It’s a single elimination tournament with a ton of teams.
