“Fans in the building” is not a complement right now. I must be cranky. This does nothing for me. The 3 years of eligibility just means another one of our young linebackers is not good enough to play here and will likely leave while we do not upgrade the position. Our roster management and portal usage is something else.

Yeah go touch grass.

What coach nails all evals in highschool recruiting?

Let the new defensive staff evaluate the roster and build the defensive side. The spring portal had very few entries most positions.

There’s talent in the LB room.

Popo
Pruitt
Washington
Wiley
Hayes

Adding this guy for competition and to push everyone can’t hurt things. Just need someone to step up. I didn’t include Wes or Chase. Both of them have plateaued and JAGs

There were a couple of moral legitimate middle linebackers already in the portal, not to mention there had been talk of a back channel, dude.

I can’t keep up with it all. It’s all ridiculous. I’m pretty much just waiting for week 1 and see who runs out of the tunnel. Not worth the energy to track all this year around anymore

Wes will be starting unfortunately and none of the others you mentioned have done anything. A lot of questions going into the season for the LB group

Yeah, I figured with having three years of experience. Hopefully we have someone step up out of the others.

Just me, or this guy remind you of #31 both physically and by his clips? All the highlights were running plays down from the weak side. Only one of getting off a block to make a tackle a few yards downfield. Limited sample size, but just an observation.

Supposedly this came out of nowhere. He resigned with their collective in December. Either Fordham is on track to get back on the field and take his spot back, or he’s just trying to cash in on his potential.

But who cares. Much needed pick up.

I haven’t watched the film yet, but it seems like he produced the moment he got on the field and NC State didn’t want to lose him.

Size is always a question with converted safeties but he was 215 when he visited here.
So he's a safety in today's thumper world.

Doesn't mean he can't play, but kinda meh LB-wise. At some point, DBs will regularly be 215.

I await the word of @Memnon

I actually like this pickup, NC State hated losing this kid.

I'm not against it. Adds depth. But he isn't considered a playoff caliber starter. And our biggest area of weakness is the Kiko role, which he won't fill... Louisville hated losing Alderman and he didn't do much so far. just saying.
