At 29.55, this is the play I commented on in real-time during the game. WTF is #11 looking at? He doesn't even react to Gibbs until he's literally even with him 3 yards on his right shoulder. If he's even, he's leavin'!!!! House call by Gibbs!!!

If Flagg reads the play properly, He meets Gibbs in the hole for little to no gain. A 3-4 yard gain if he reacts a little late, but makes the play.

I have to disagree with SteveO, I don't see learning from these mistakes. We've seen this type of egregious play at MLB every week multiple times.

I think this is the week we put it all together. We come in focus and light up FSU. I have 57-28 Miami.

At 34:22, no hesitation by Ragone at MLB. Meets the ball carrier in the hole for little or no gain. If he's slow on his read, then the guard makes his block and the RB runs for a 1st down or more. Well done young man!!!
Then put him in. If Ragu is the best we've got at Mike then play the best. That was hard for me to write believe me but what's the alternative? TAC isn't getting any PT for whatever reason and Chase Smith with all his twitch , speed and explosion is just rotting away on the sidelines. Way to go Manny!

Ragone is making plays. Not hesitating. Making the right reads. Play the man!!! I'm done trying to figure out why we don't see the young LBs with speed and athleticism.

GT Film Review: Canes for 3 straight games score on the opening drive. Multiple turnovers in the first half kept this from being a blowout. Defense gave up SEVERAL explosive chunk TD's but battled back again keeping GT off the scoreboard in the 4th. #BeatFSU

Stevo, your analyses have grown on me.
Now, CAN YOU MAKE YOUR CURSOR LARGER???

Exactly. At this point who cares if he was a 5 star or a 1 star? Who cares if he was a walkon or a scholarship player. The bottom line is can he play? Can he make plays? In the few times I've seen him the last 2 years the answer is yes. Obviously the kid is improving and he has some skills. So play the man!!!! He has earned it. Will he turn out to be one of these feel good rags to riches stories? I don't know. Just play the kid. Can't get much worse than Flagg.

Don't stop there though. Play TAC. Play Chase Smith! Put talent on the field for crying out loud. Who knows they might start making plays.

11 is painfully bad. When I focus on him it’s hard to watch. He has no twitch, no quickness and zero explosiveness. He looks like he’s jogging when going sideline to sideline. On top of that he takes horrible angles and often gets washed. The fact this kid starts is an absolute indictment of Manny’s horrific LB evals and recruiting. Our LB corps look and play like a G5 group.
100% right. I’m not sure 11 starts at FIU or FAU.

Or the offense could have an off day without the defense being able to bail them out. The noles could exploit our special teams more specifically our kick coverage units.

Don't get me wrong. I love our offense led by Tyler Van Dime. I've just watched enough football to know not to take anything for granted. Here's the thing. Like many have observed, our identity is running the Air Raid. When we go 4 wide and let Van Dime pick apart the secondary, we are becoming increasingly difficult to stop. What bothers me is sometimes Lashlee doesn't go all out on what works and starts to waver and go back and forth between slowing it down and pounding them and just putting the pedal to the metal and dare them to stop us. I have no problem with running the football but right now our bread and butter is the passing game. We can run the ball as a changeup and to wear them down late but right now we don't quite have the type of OL to inflict our will on opponents. That is my main concern going into this game. I want to see a ruthless gameplan from Lashlee. Identity their weakness and attack it relentlessly.

It'll be interesting to see if TAC gets any snaps since Jennings went to the Portal. My guess is no. I could be wrong, but I thought I read that TAC wasn't even on special teams. I know they like to give snaps to guys that play well on special teams. I'm really wondering if that situation with his dad and Patke in Pittsburg killed any chance of him playing. Smith is on special teams and did get a few snaps at LB/Striker.

Yeah I'm concerned about that as well. I would be interested to learn what it was that started the entire incident. My guess is PT but I would like to find out if TAC has been playing well in practice and if this is a matter of Diaz purposely ******** him for whatever reason. TAC strikes me as a good kid so I don't think it's extracurricular related but who knows. Would appreciate any insight on the situation that anyone is privy to.

^^^ just average MLB play and this defense is 5x better. 11 is young i understand the mistakes but he should never be the starter. Rotational guy at best in this type of defense
11 is young and agree he's a rotational guy like a Mike Smith was, he's too slow to be an every down backer.

Manny gambled on what we had at LB and lost big time.
When he looks back on what went wrong as he is cleaning out his office...He will point to the moment when he thought our LB corp was good enough to where we didnt need any portal help as a HUGE and VERY arrogant mistake.
