Fall Camp Intel: Offense

Let's just say Neal was here. He'd be LT, Louis would be RT, and Donaldson would be Guard no question. Louis is certainly a capable LT and i'm not going to debate that. But Donaldson is G and his future is at G. We even started him a G this spring hoping a Tackle would step up. Again, i'm not saying he can't develop into a good OT because he's obviously a specimen but the kids a guard. He's a run blocking mauler, that's his #1 skillset.

I would be scared to death of a true freshman at LT. So would Richt and Rosier. No way Neal starts at LT from day 1.

Not like the kid can't explode and rapidly develop, but pretty disappointed thus far in Lorenzo Lingard.

I agree, let's hope the staff is trying to hide him and just unleash him on a tired LSU defense in the second half. It's no surprise he's behind in pass blocking. Do they even teach that at the HS level? I wasn't expecting him to beat out Homer or Dallas but I did expect him to pass the others with ease.

New era in college football. **** 3 playoff teams started a true freshman offensive tackle 2 playoffs ago

Started in a playoff game or started game 1? Big difference there.

Kind of my point. Were playing Donaldson where we need him not necessarily his best position....because of lack of options at T.
But Neal isn’t here...**** he isn’t even committed so don’t play that hypothetical crap until he commits here.

Great write up. Seems like Jeff is going to have a big year. The rest of the WRs will flash. Malik has to be accurate.

Looks like Lingard will have to take his lumps. Kid is a great project but he has a long way to go as a college back.

Brevin is the starter shouldn't shock anyone.

Bar Milo LOL I laughed

Talk about a kid who seems like he's been here for 10 years

I hope you boys are ready for your beatdown. On the field and in the tunnel after the game. The U is about to be humiliated.

I remember when some of us were "pretty disappointed thus far" in Willis McGahee, too.

Give it some time.

"struggles come in getting a consistent push in the run game"

So ready for when this will not be the case again in Coral Gables.

UM

Why is it news that Lingard is a stiff upright runner? That was evident on his film. Darren McFadden and DeMarco Murray were stiff upright runners too. Murray redshirted at Oklahoma for comparison.

No reason to panic on Lingard unless your expectations were unreasonable. Actually it sounds like all the freshmen are on track for what I expected if not more.

Oh great another LSU fan troll on here as we discuss the exceptional piece Stefan put together. I really can’t wait to go out on Tigercrap.com and throwing shade on their asses for out victory. I think they’re transfixed on our offensive line play and forget that they’re an above average pass rushing unit, which means we’ll be fine passing to the W. As long as Rosier gets the ball into our playmakers hands and Richt doesn’t go conservative when we’re up like we were vs ND, then I think we’ll be just fine thank you @genuinelsutiger

Is it not concerning to anyone that the 2 redshirt freshman QB's picked by the staff to be the future of Miami never seemed to pose a serious threat to Rosier? The level in talent and ceiling from Kosi/Weldon should be off the charts compared to what Malik can do by this point.

Bro what ... did you have an account for 4 years just to make that comment .. I don’t even think I’m upset I’m just more concerned for you man

He is the 4th guard right now. Who says he won't pass boulware during the season? His power is needed in the run game.
Bruh, I'm not saying it's impossible. Its just my prediction. This staff just favors older players too imo.

pretty similar to #2..its a good lineup for sure. Id just love to see donaldson next to scaife or neal. We'd have an elite side of the line. Like the old bama run left line.
Personally I think Reed and Donaldson would make the better pairing. Both are absolute Maulers imo. I think Scaife is a great Lineman, but I don't think he's like Reed/Donaldson would be in the run game together.. But anyways that was just my prediction. If it was what I'd want, it'd probably look like:

LT - Neal - Scaife
LG - Scaife - Boulware
C - Gaynor - Mahoney
RG - Reed - Mahoney - Hillery
RT - Donaldson - Herbert - Campbell
