I actually do not really understand this. Guy was getting burn at the U as a South Florida kid. Looked good in a limited role. I doubt Missouri is outspending us for a guy we really want. I think there might be more to the Simpson situation we are not privy to.
Who cares, we got a player in Carter who’s better than him.

Can someone explain, is that a way to get front squats done when you don't have the mobility to rack the barbell
I think it’s just a way to create instability, thereby forcing you to use stabilizing muscles.
Similar to when people put chains at the end of the barbell.
This is the reason why just being strong doesn’t really translate to the field. Yes you can squat 800 pounds. And that’s great, but on the field it’s not a linear straight movement.
Also, stabilizer muscle strength can increase your linear power and explosiveness and decrease injury potential.
Just remember that when you do tho fa like this you can’t just start off with the same eight your are used to.

Prob waiting on them to add some more weight on the bar for him . I bet he’s one of the strongest kids on Miami coming right out of highschool . Don’t see to many people tossing up 500lbs
His hands will be something you see from hall of famers. If it’s a run play and he gets a hold of you, it’s over. It will be like something we haven’t seen in a long time.

I've only seen 1 guy in my life that could move the weight that Cantwell moves at 18 years old that wasn't like a trained powerlifter (saw a powerlifted bench 645 about 4 months after we graduated HS) and the one i have seen he wasn't even good at football. Just a 6'3 dude that was gifted as a could be and flamed out in the FCS. Benched like 475 and squatted like 650.

None of them, including the powerlifters, have the arm length Cantwell has. Insane. His dad throws crazy weight too but he looks like how most dudes that bench a lot look with the shorter arms and built like a bowling ball.

My favorite Cantwell fact was that he bench-pressed 225 pounds for 32 reps in July 2025 as a high schooler. This elite strength performance, achieved at age 16 or 17, would have tied for second-most reps among offensive linemen at the 2025 NFL Combine. (#1 was 33).

This is insane. Hopefully, at his combine he gets close to the record of 49 after 3 years here. He will be starting day 1 unless something crazy happens

Forget elk antler. We need Cantwell blood transfusions. Army of super soldiers.

Not being 'that guy' (I'm not someone that lifts weights at a gym, I have a sandbag and a kettlebell for that) but aren't they really strict about what counts as a rep at the Combine?

I'm not arguing that he's weak, just I'd take those numbers with a grain of salt.
