Best interview I've seen in a while. Sound very promising on our side, but we've been burned plenty of times by kids that wanted to be Canes but signed elsewhere because of external factors.

"The problem is that his family really, really wants him to stay at LSU." From your thread yesterday. Are you taking other people's word for this and now changing it after speaking to him. Or what's the deal? Why the drastic change?

We need help right away but we need talent even more.

I would love to land this kid. All this "he can't help right away" stuff is pure speculation anyways.

I'm not sure his family wants him to go to LSU because its LSU but more because he has a kid.

Source close to the situation has told me for months that his family wants him there with the kid. If Tim is saying differently, Ill go with his word, but I'm just passing along that info from a source close to it.

There are other factors that may add to him coming here, like LSU maybe running out of space, so even if his family wants him there, they may not have room and he wants to be here

This feels eerily similar to the Jelani Hamilton situation. Everyone though he was a going to go to FSU for a while. The same can be said about McCord going elsewhere, but McCord actually made visits here.

Hamilton didn't go to school on FSU's campus, and didn't have a kid in Tallahassee. Big difference IMO

LSU has a higher salary cap than Miami, bros.

This...

For the first time I really feel like there is a hint of a possibility this might actually happen. William's comments about his folks following SU and GSU reminded me a lot of the attitude of my wife's family members who live in Louisiana: some like LSU, some are indifferent, and some don't like them. Reading that his parents don't follow them suggest that they are in the indifferent category. Really think that is important. It also helps a TON that our coaches can be perfectly honest in saying he can play early.

WOULD BE HUGE!

We'll see...

His mom:

"For me to say he has to stay home would be selfish," she said. "I want him to get out and experience and to see things because he's always been here. He's never had the opportunity to travel and get out and see how other teams and coaches operate."
