I am happy that our young and talented coach is staying with The U for at least another year. So we need to stop bashing Golden and continue to believe he has a plan to get us to the mountain top.

I always see people say stuff like that and I just don't get it. Are the school's academic standards up from when I was there in 01, sure, but thats great for me as an alum. The standards for the athletes we let into the school have not risen to the level of Stanford's though. Sure there will be kids that we don't take because of certain issues but some of those kids need to be at schools like West Virginia (noel devine) etc.... It's not like the kids we are going after are picking Stanford, or Berkley or Yale etc.. over MIami. We are competing for the same kids that Bama, UF, FSU, UGA, etc are so the whole Stanford thing really makes no sense to me. Its not as if kids aren't qualifying to go to UM and then magically start balling out at Florida.
Also if the school or coach doesn't want a kid because of character issues at some point maybe we should trust their judgement. We just avoided a major scandal and should be happy about that. Having dudes with questionable character running the program or in the program right now seems silly because I have to think the NCAA, as much as they hate us will have us under microscope for embarrassing them nationally, and will try to catch us doing ANYTHING to save face.

Look. Don't have to love Golden or believe in the man. But dudes in here talking about wanting us to lose so they can say they were right about AG is asinine. I'm going to root for AG to succeed because I want this team to succeed. I'm a Hurricanes fan and will root for our team to succeed if Bozo the fugging Clown is our HC.
If you are a true fan of this program then you need to hope can close strong on recruiting, and that AG can get the Defense fixed and improve as a coach, because like him or not, he's going to be our HC next year. A real fan should root for the program to succeed, not root for failure just so they can say they were right about some coach they don't like.

you guys are trippin!!! Golden should come back this year…Lets give the man a chance to work a full season without any sanctions or anything hanging over the program. Then if we still suck and barely beat sucky teams and get slaughtered by decent teams…then, its legit to want him out. But as it stands we were just considered the ****tiest program in college football and this man led us out of that to semi-respectability. Give him a chance to coach his uys up. And Dino isn't going anywhere unless he does the admirable thing and step down. If he were a good friend he would do that and not allow his friend to be fired because of him…smh fat chance! But lets chill and let this class get in, and lets see how this plays out.

Right, it has to be about "I told you so" or an agenda. It can't simply be about a problem smacking you in the face, and as a supporter (and in many cases someone who invests hard earned money in the product) wanting it fixed.

Hey, dip****, the "I told you so" moment about Golden was the Duke game. The reaffirmation of that moment was the bowl game. This is about wanting the mistake/problem (Golden) fixed (fired). Get a ******* clue.
My gut tells me he's a northeast guy. Blue collar guy, family attitude, wants to recruit good kids who will put in the time. He's a perfect fit for PSU, which makes me think that it was not his decision that the job wasn't ultimately his call. But who knows.
I'm interested to see if it was Morris holding this team back, not Golden or the offensive staff. Morris is your textbook example of a middling QB holding a program hostage. He had just enough raw talent and NFL scout attention that you could never bench him. But he also did nothing to fix small things, no attention to detail, inconsistent as all ****, struggled against ranked competition, frustratingly streaky etc. Since he took over the job, Morris never improved.
Golden's W-L success was always going to be limited by a QB who, imo, shouldn't have been the clear-cut starter, maybe not the starter at all.

I agree with your whole post except for the "similar to Jim Mora". Mora (as well as Briles) would have taken that job in a NY minute but they were going to offer it to Strong. The timing just worked out for them.
