I grew up in Michigan (despite my username). When I was in high school, the internet did not yet exist so we had to write to the schools that we were interested in (using a typewriter or word processor - I'm not THAT old!), asking for a catalog and application. I sent letters to loads of schools - UPenn, Yale, Northwestern, Miami (The U, not that fakeazz school in Ohio), USCw, Michigan State, several more and Michigan. They all responded in turn with a friendly letter and a catalog with an application within 2 weeks of me sending the letters out....all excpet Michigan. Six weeks later, I received a tri-fold flyer from the Esteeemd University of Michigan telling me how amazing their school was and how fortunate I was to have the opportunity to apply to the school in the future. It was the most arrogant piece of promo literature I've ever read in my entire life. Prior to receiving it, I considered Michigan to be one of my top 2 or 3 choices. After receiving it, I threw it away and never applied. F them.
30+ years later and I am so much better off having gone to Miami. The folks I went to high school with who went to U Michigan are exactly as you described - weird and "holier-than-thou." I live in SoCal now and have some neighbors who are Michigan alums. How do I know? Haha....cuz it's plastered on everything they own. I love to walk my dog past them while wearing a Miami Football t-shirt...waiting for them to say something....anything. So far, nothing. Academically University of Michigan has a great reputation. Socially, it does not.

I did middle and high school in Oakland County. All of this is spot on. What makes it even worse is that all the non Michigan alums somehow someway end up carrying this flag with even more pride than the alums. Buddy, you attended Western and are sped af, why are you preaching about the Michigan Way to me? They would all **** on Michigan State as a school as well. Yeah it isn’t Michigan but you go to Ferris State, chill. ND fans are very similar as well.
And by "go to Ferris State," you mean "go to a party or two there, not actually attend.
I left out the non-alums just because I didn't want ot overwhelm the last post. Amen to what you said though. It's like the number of teeth in their head is inversely proportionate to the amount of pride they take in the Michigan Way. I have a cousin bouncing around up there who is everything you and I just described - dumb, uneducated, crappy teeth, and more pride in Michigan football than dollars he has saved for retirement. Man, thanks for reminding me how fortunate I am to have left that hellhole.
Well considering he won't play for us this year I'm not sure how he's going to do that.

Dude it’s so normal to mix these guys up from when they start at school, not a big deal, it’s just that this board has to point it out and have fun with it I guess.
It's like ever since Mario became HC this fan base has become more frustrated and angry than I've ever seen. His underachievement has everyone ****ed off and ready to cannibalize each other. I didn't see this on here under Golden, Richt or Manny.
I've seen so many fades being offered, threats of violence being made and expletive-laden tirades on the site since 2022 that I get this site confused with a Worldstar comment section from time to time.
Born and raised in Miami. I have 4 family members who went to Michigan (1 brother, 2 first cousins, 1 distant cousin) and all of them are super arrogant and douchey about their time up north. That school has some epic level propoganda system.
I said it in another thread, but Mario got ****** ready to die bout them 22 wins.

More than likely, he was just another in a long line of jilted dudes who had an issue with me & just wanted me to give him some attention.
That's par for the course for me, I get one of those almost every week lol.
