If we close with those guys then I think all fans would be insanely happy. Honestly I would think AG would have to receive some pretty high praise for being a top notch recruiter at that point. Lets get it Al!

Real nervous about this class

I am off base that its going to be hard to love this class unless we land Collins, Kirkland, Bostwick, and Thomas at a minimum

Maybe love just comes easy to me, but I like the class already. I will be disappointed if we DON'T GET ANY of Collins, Bostwick, Kirkland, Grace, Thomas, Coley, and AQM, but I certainly don't need ALL of them to feel good about the group as a whole.

The DT recruiting is setting up to be a complete disaster. Not good at all. A guy like Bryant was supposed to step in for a guy like Porter (if he even stays) in 2014.

While I understand where you're coming from, the lack of names out there makes me think the staff is pretty confident on those two. There is one other name, a JUCO named Marcus Hardison but not really sure where we stand with him.

People forget that we have a bunch of DTs already in the school and enrolled...at some point we have to develop them.

2013 DT Depth Chart

Porter (Rd-Sr)
Robinson (Rd-Sr)
Grimble (Jr)
King (Rd-So)
Moore (So)
Ivery (So)
Briscoe (Rd-Fr)

Trust me I want two beasts DT (Bostwick and Bryant) in this class and every class, the line is the most important position. I just think we need to realize that it's not like the WR situation we had circa 2006/7 when we signed Sam Shields and George Robinson.

*Please note that Hunter Knighton could be a DT*

You missed Pierre.

So, in 2014, we have Pierre, Grimble, King, Moore, Ivery, Briscoe.

Essentially, you're praying that Moore or Ivery make a very big leap or someone like Jelani Hamilton becomes a Pierre-like contributor. Color me ******* concerned about that group.

This class needed at least one stud DT who could step in as an impact guy in 2014. A fat and unfocused Bryant wouldn't do that anyway, but a focused and junior-highlights version of Bryant would likely be that guy.

Bostwick could easily be that impact guy you're looking for in '14 when the depth chart looks thin. At this point Bryant's Sr. season almost makes that a necessity.

You could supplement 2014 with 1-2 JUCO DT's. It looks like this staff can recruit and given more time (unlike the surprise from Bryant flaking out); they can pull a good Prep/JUCO guy or two to supplement the roster.

The one position I am concerned about (along with the likes of LexCane) is RB. Clements is not the answer and neither is anyone else on the roster not named Randall Duke Johnson. There is not even a suitable 6-10 carries a game player behind him.

Just for shats and gags!

Commits
1. Beau Sandland
2. Devante Bond
3. Jamal Carter
4. Artie Burns
5. Standish Dobard
6. Alex Figueroa
7. Alex Gall
8. Jeremy Kerr
9. Hunter Knighton
10. RLIII
11. Kevin Olsen
12. Sonny Odogwu

If we sign 18

13. Bryant
14. Grace
15. Thomas
16. Collins
17. Kirkland
18. Bostwick
-----------------
If we sign 19
19. AQM
-----------------
If we sign 20
20. Coley
-----------------
If we sign 21 (the most we sign, maybe if RLIII is a walk-on)
21. Hardison (JUCO DT), Robinson or someone hardly on the radar

If AQM chooses UM at the ALL Star game, he is in, not contingent on how many we sign. Similarly, I think Hardison gets a spot if he wants it because of the need for a game-ready DT (maybe a long shot, though).

Looking at what we have commited, things can get a little nerve racking. Hopes are riding on 6-8 18 yr old kids to make decisions in our favor. And i'm not one to put alot of stock into that age ranges decisons. I sure hope, nobody would of put theirs in my decisions at that age.

The stock i have put into is the Golden stock. The guy gets it. Whether he closes 100% or 0% , I guarantee he has contingent plans for every scenario.

There is alot of worry about talent, but we fap over the character of guys like Gall, Odogwu, Figueroa. I look at the guys we have on the Team and would rather keep those kids with character and work ethic, over bringing in some uber talent *******.

Now with that said, I am hoping that Golden has sat with these kids, made the decision that they are uber talented guys WITH character and work ethic, he closes on all of them, and we give a huge middle finger to the NCAA.

Hey Pete, what position is LSU taking Bain as? What are they seeing that we don't? Are we still in touch with Senat?

That is not what that means.

If someone told me we sign 19 players, those above would be my guess. It has nothing to do with contingency planning.

For everyone standing on the ledge getting ready to jump, please review the list of kids AG and staff pulled in the month of January and February of 2012:

Jawand Blue
Jacoby Briscoe
Deon Bush
Antonio Crawford
Tracy Howard
Dequan Ivery
Robert Lockhart
Tyriq McCord

And in January and February of 2011:

Dallas Crawford
Thomas Finnie
Taylor Gadbois
Matt Goudis
Jalen Grimble
Kevin Grooms
Eddie Johnson
Antonio Kinard
Gionni Paul
Denzel Perryman
Rashawn Scott
Ricardo Williams

So basically calm the f down and save the chicken little act for after NSD.

I dont doubt Golden can land our top targets, but doesnt mean I wont worry

Remember the Golden rule: In the end....the fappping will be aplenty!!

If we don't get AQM (nice surprise), Bryant (necessary due to position) Collins (necessary due to talent + position), Kirkland and Thomas (yikes), and Coley (more on the nice surprise side), it'll look really bad.

So if we miss out on all of our remaining top targets?

I put a better chance that Keif ain't trolling.

If we land Thomas and Kirkland and Bostwick its a pretty good class. Add Collins and Bryant its a great class. If we somehow manage AQM and Coley on top I might have a stroke.

The thing is, we are looking much better for our top targets right now than we were at this point last year. That alone is a great sign. I feel pretty good about where we stand right now, outside of the NCAA anvil hanging over our heads.

And yes, I fully agree that the DT position is looking to be a disaster. Been saying it for a while. Getting AT LEAST one of Bostwick or Bryant is critical, and even that would be a disappointment given our goals coming into this class.

Agree that the DT class is concerning to say the least. Hopefully Bostwick's grades are in order because we desperately need him in this class.

Fair to say that since RS is at Arkansas, Kirkland's TCU visit isn't going to happen?

I talked to football prospect and he says that schools are giving money. And he chose a certain school for the money that they are offering him.

Love the Big Board, thanks! Gotta get Bostwick. Just gotta.

I know right we have a lot of young guys we can develop, I feel good about King, Moore and Ivery those guys could become studs but they are extremely young.
