I dont believe anyone here knows better than coach Richt.
If we don't recruit a QB it's a retarded fail. Another ill advised move by CMR, who a majority of the time makes the right descions. However the little things add up and that's what eventually did him in at UGA.
I personally am going to wait for the recruiting season to end to pass judgment.

I'm sorry guys but if MJJ does not commit to us and we're left standing there with our d!cks in our hands, its squarely on Jon Richt. Ive read all the posts bashing Rumph for being a good coach, but terrible at recruiting. Why in the **** does the living embodiment of nepotism not face the same criticism? Because "he got us kosi" two years ago? Because Jarren fell into his lap last year? Lets not forget that ****kowski was his guy until he realized what everyone outside of Rutgers already knew.. that he sucked. Jarren visiting for ND and having played with half our commits at the Opening is what got him.

Who is the most polarizing player on the team? Malik Rozier. Jon Richt is his position coach. If you say "but CMR is the real QB coach", then its even worse. It means the most important position in sports in being "coached" by a guy who does not even coach them. So his only job is to recruit EXACTLY ONE QB at a time? Then he better not miss.

And if he misses then what’s going to happen besides the world continuing to turn?

So the story today on TOS is MJJ is taking his second OV on June 22nd and it is to Florida State - a school NOT on his original list of 7 but who he says "is continually recruiting him hard". He roomed with FSU commit Sam Howell at the Elite 11 finals last weekend.
Sounds like he is looking for any school not named Miami . If he was coming here he would’ve committed already imo

My oh my at the over reaction.
Both Brad kaaya and malik rosier has the best seasons a Miami qb has had in over 10 years
Kaaya 62% 3500 yards 27 tds 7 ints 9-4
Rosier 54% 3200 year 26 tds 14 ints 470 yards rushing 5 tds

Richt jr locked on and targeted nkosi Perry,

Richt jr locked on and got Sitkowksi, believe it or not he has physical tools at the position but he wasn’t the qb for us period. Regardless he may start as a true freshman this year and outplayed his comp at Rutgers.

Richt jr- went and targeted and got a commitment from an elite qb Jarren Williams late in the process when several other elite programs like bama, Auburn and Ohio state were already recruiting him months and weeks before we started talking to him. On his official visit richt jr got him to commit before he even left the visit....

He’s laid plenty of groundwork to get MJJ just let it all play out. He’s not going to Oregon they have their only qb they are taking, same with Nebraska. It should be a telling sign that Miami is not actively recruiting other QBs like that or nothing has shown on the radar as of yet.

Yes he may be young but he clearly can recruit qbs and relate to them period

I'm not sure there are too many Cane fans who are happy that the younger Richt is on the staff.

I'm most certainly not.

As for his recruiting style, if we do land Johnson, then perhaps his strategy of a narrower focus may need to be given more thought.

I personally don't like it so much, but if he produces somewhat regularly on the recruiting trail getting his top choice then our QB room would be in fine shape.

I like Rumph as a coach.

Our DB recruiting has obviously missed players with the current staff, so whoever is involved is clearly responsible - as a minimum that's both of the DB coaches - not just Rumph.

I know Rumph can coach.

I'm not sure what Banda can do.

Sitkowski isn't nearly as bad as the hysterical mob on here thinks he is. He's generating real hype at Buttgers and I've seen workout clips of him training recently that are impressive even by NFL standards. He's had his share of adversity but QBs with his physical tools and work ethic aren't destined to be bums forever.

Still prefer Jarren Williams though.

If he doesn't come here and the coaches don't like the other QBs in this class, I'd be fine with taking a transfer. Coach Richt isn't going to go into next season with 2 scholarship QBs...

I wanted an OC from jumpstreet....still do....And I want him upstairs just as Richt was at FSU frim 95-2000 when nobody in America wanted to deal with those offenses

With him, it’s going to be about processing in full contact. He took some licks against Central and hung in there so I don’t think toughness will be an issue.

I completely agree. Well said.

Cant teach accuracy during games though, thats one of the worst traits to have at qb

I’m basically willing to accept “the living embodiment of nepotism” on our staff. So is the UM administration. It was a package deal from day one. Funny how people don’t get that, and don’t get that it’s not going to change. By all means, bltch your hearts out, but understand, it ain’t changing.

Yeah he's similar to Jay Cutler/Josh Allen in that regard.

Just wait till the lights come on.

Workout/camp warrior. When the bullets are live, he's nowhere near the same player that he shows in shorts and a tshirt. He's got NFL skills, but they don't translate to when everything is fast and he's getting hit.

Williams and perry have good legs but Johnson is a different level dual threat. Kid looks like he can take it to the house on read options.
