Article: CaneHunt ’14: RB UPDATE | Sony Michel - new leaders?

According to 247Sports, 2014 RB Sony Michel has two schools leading his recruitment, Georgia and Notre Dame, with Miami, FSU and UF still in the mix.

However, InsideTheU reports that Sony states a final five of Miami, FSU, Notre Dame, Georgia and Florida. Miami has been recruiting Sony since the 8th grade and has visited the Coral Gables campus numerous times unofficially.

Speaking of long recruitments, Dawgs247 reported recently that Georgia has been recruiting Sony hard for two to three years. This methodology worked for them in the recruitment of Keith Marshall and Isaiah Crowell.

Finally, Michel has also stated, in an interview for GatorBait, that he wants to make his commitment before his senior season so that he can concentrate on winning a state championship and leave his legacy.

It’s a long, long way to NSD!

Even if this kid does commit early it will be VERY soft. Face it, bros. This is gonna be like MT's recruitment. He will be all over the place. And make a final decision on Live TV on NSD next year. Don't give yourself another heart attack. Lane is already gonna make this a VERY tough recruitment for us.

We all knew we would have to battle for Sony, we need to keep on him and show him Miami is the place te be.

Better to be waiting on big-time players than not in the game for them at all. Obviously we all want them to commit early and shut it down, but when it doesn't happen this staff's not going to give up until the player signs.

Better to be waiting on big-time players than not in the game for them at all. Obviously we all want them to commit early and shut it down, but when it doesn't happen this staff's not going to give up until the player signs.

With the amount of schollies that i've read that we will have the NSD decisions ont hurt us we will have many backup plans and someo the NSD guys will have their spot taken away if the staff thinks they are playing games

I've mentioned it on here before, but I work with one of the assistant coaches form Heritage. He has said for a while now that Sony was leaning towards Notre Dame, perhaps even being a silent commit at one point. He told me recently that Sony has since changed his stance, and is starting to lean more towards Miami. He said Sony is in enamored with new RB coach Hurlie Brown.

Hearing it from the recruits is overrated. Message board rumors are where its at. They shouldnt even bother asking recruits what they think anymore. Just check around for rumors

I'm thinking the complete opposite. This kid has been recruited since 8th grade. He knows the game of recruiting and doesn't seem like an attention seeker. From everything I've read and watched on him, he seems like a genuine kid that is really doing his research before committing.
