Article: ACC Releases 2013 Schedule

The ACC released it's schedule matrix for the 2013 football season. While dates won't be announced until February, the opponents and divisions have been finalized.

Big things to note:

-FSU and Virginia Tech are finally split up from each other.

No longer will we have years where we have to play the Noles and Hokies on the road in the same year, which is great. Not just because it makes it easier on us, but because it ****s over Virginia tech (always a plus).

-We play at Pitt again.

We get to welcome Pitt to the ACC by dropping a steamer on their chest again in their house. This is also great because I get to squeeze Penguins hockey into my week-long 'Canes road trip.

The Canes also have asked the ACC not to give them a Thursday night home game and are optimistic that will be granted. It could hurt UM in recruiting if high-school players see small crowds on ESPN Thursday games.

I hate it. Any night game means one less chance of an unbearable noon game.

Agreed. Noon games are the worst. Truly embarrassing that we have reached a point where we have to request no Thursday night games because we are embarrassed of our attendance. SMH.

Thursday night games and big cities do not mix well. I live exactly 1 hr from the stadium and to get there during the work week is just plain tough. Also, the student body at best might be 3,000 for a Thursday game. Its a no win situation really and hopefully the ACC understands.

If anything, put the Canes on a Thursday road game...

As for the 2013 schedule, we should be playing for the ACCCG. Truly anything less will be a disappointing season...

"Dangerous"? "Disasterous" is more like it. We've had about a half dozen seasons ruined because we can't stay on the field with their Pop Warner level QBs, and third string, white RBs who torch us for 300 rushing yards.

Doesn't matter. All that matters is GT. Lose that opener, and we might as well quit the season right there. Gotta beat GT, UNC, UVA and VT, for certain. If we drop one of those (they are bad teams, btw) we are probably out of ACC Coastal contention.
