Arizona State QB Transfer Sam Leavitt Signing With LSU

As reported by ESPN, the top quarterback in the transfer portal, Sam Leavitt, is reportedly signing with Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers after visiting several other schools.

The news came from ESPN's Pete Thamel, who mentioned on Monday morning that Sam Leavitt is likely to choose the LSU Tigers over other schools like Miami, Kentucky, and Tennessee, where he also took visits.

During the 2024 season at Arizona State, he passed for more than 2,800 yards, threw 24 touchdowns with just six interceptions, and added over 400 rushing yards along with five rushing touchdowns. Even though his 2025 season was cut short by injuries, Leavitt remained effective. He threw for over 1,600 yards, completed 10 touchdown passes with only three interceptions, and rushed for an additional 300 yards and five touchdowns.

Now, Miami will need to focus on finding a new quarterback. Whoever they target, they will likely pursue hard after missing out on the top quarterback.

This situation is disappointing... But we’ll see who steps up next.

I was listening to college football enquirer today and they were discussing the demond Williams situation.

The b1g template contract held up. It’s too much to type on my cell, but they are using contract law, not ncaa guidelines, to restrict players from transferring.

It’ll be hard to poach anyone with a signed contract imo. Certainly anyone from the b1g, at least.

I don’t know why everyone assume Emory will be ahead of Luke Nickel by the end of Spring ball.

Nickel will start at Miami. Either in ‘26 or ‘27. The kid is legit.

Most QBs are under contract. You saw what happened to the Washington QB. He tried to portal but the contract held up. I’m not sure we can tamper and get our way this time.

My interpretation was different…the way i heard it was it held up because Williams wasn’t willing to challenge it. He weighed his options and took the safer route
