Arizona State QB Transfer Sam Leavitt Signing With LSU

As reported by ESPN, the top quarterback in the transfer portal, Sam Leavitt, is reportedly signing with Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers after visiting several other schools.

The news came from ESPN's Pete Thamel, who mentioned on Monday morning that Sam Leavitt is likely to choose the LSU Tigers over other schools like Miami, Kentucky, and Tennessee, where he also took visits.

During the 2024 season at Arizona State, he passed for more than 2,800 yards, threw 24 touchdowns with just six interceptions, and added over 400 rushing yards along with five rushing touchdowns. Even though his 2025 season was cut short by injuries, Leavitt remained effective. He threw for over 1,600 yards, completed 10 touchdown passes with only three interceptions, and rushed for an additional 300 yards and five touchdowns.

Now, Miami will need to focus on finding a new quarterback. Whoever they target, they will likely pursue hard after missing out on the top quarterback.

This situation is disappointing... But we’ll see who steps up next.

EW wasn’t his recruit. I doubt there were any grand illusions about Judd. The other two are still young.

What I’d be more upset about is, if he knew EW ain’t gonna cut it, why haven’t we brought in a transfer to develop. That is my concern in all of this.

At this point I’d like them to steal a young guy with potential like Austin Simmons or the backup at osu or Longstreet and let’s have a qb battle. Everyone outside of Simpson would be a overpaid reach

Karoline choosing a lower tier conference like the SEC instead of the powerhouse ACC is a blessing in a disguise. Some guys just aren’t built for the grind of an ACC schedule. Mario will pull out a hat trick.

If you’ve ever heard Mario recap the Cam Ward situation, Mario didn’t have some 4-D chess plan.

He lucked into it and made Ward announce immediately in hopes there was no take backs, because Mario legit thought he was f*cked.

When did I say it was a genius strategy. You just need to let the process play out. Everyone was crying after Mateer last year and look at us now. Everyone thought the Emory Era was starting before we got Ward.
