Not even close. Like I just said I won't argue if people put him second or anywhere inside top 6. But Randy Moss was a whole different level of freak. Nothing I've ever seen is even similar to him. Which says a whole lot. What separated Megatron from other receivers was his build and how he was utilized. Wasn't nothing unique to him outside of his build. Several tight ends I can think of were basically the same player from a skills set and intangibles perspective. What separated him from them was the fact he was a receiver and they were tight ends. Other than the positions they were virtually identical. Randy Moss has ZERO clones. You can't run a 4.2 and change with a 47 inch vert, have mitts for hands like stick em, be that physical and that competitive ALL WHILE WORKING THAT HARD and not be the undisputed goat at that position. No disrespect meant to Calvin or several others just behind him. But #1 ain't got no dispute.

I'm going to derail this thread even further. I'm old. So NOBODY compares to Jerry Rice for me. He was putting up crazy stats in a run-heavy era (though his teams did pass more than the regular team back then, it was still much less compared to today). Dude had a 1,000 yard season at 40 years old... He was such a precise route runner with some of the best hands and the smoothest stride. He just glided past defenders.

Please don't do that to yourself, this kid OR ANYONE ELSE... I wouldn't care what anyone says. Randy was 1 of 1. Not an insult to this kid. But other than the fact he's tall and plays multiple sports, they have nothing in common. Randy is the scariest receiver in the HISTORY of this game & honestly it ain't even close(which says a lot).
Facts ill never forget young Randy jfc dude was scary asf only recevier ive ever seen take a screen all the way like he did and deep ball theres NOBODY like him. People see 6'5 200 an plays bball an automatically go oh hes like Randy Moss lol No No No didnt Randy put down a 4.18 or 4.2?? Thats insane speed for a dude his size!

Jerry came to mind for me too, but I think in terms of true athlete and problem for a defense in terms of taking anything to the house anytime, it's Moss. Jerry was incredibly meticulous with his routes and training. His hands were amazing. He also is 6'2" and ran a sloooooow 40 time (4.6+). Not taking anything away from Jerry - dude was amazing. Just saying that Moss was one of a kind. I never saw this from Rice:

Or this....

Him Chris Carter Hines Ward werent burners yet always open with glue mittens but Jerry as you alluded was 40 doing numbers as a technician with precision route running 😍

That one catch he made against Miami in the old Orange Bowl, good lord. The pass was obviously going out of bounds...until he stuck out his looooong arm and just pulled it back into the field of play...
If you've never been to the Pro Football HOF, they have a whole display on Calvin Johnson and the freak of nature that he is. It's one of my favorite parts to visit. This dude was truly a Nephelim or just created out of a lab.

Yeah. Moss's physical gifts put him on another planet. And it's true. I can't really think of a freak like him at wideout. Maybe Julio Jones?

A quick AI search with the parameters being: 6’3 or taller, 4.3 or faster, & a 40+ inch vert….

Results: Nick Emmanwori, Riq Woolen, Randy Moss, Bryce Ford-Wheaton, DK Metcalf, Calvin Johnson, and Usain Bolt. Matt Jones from Arkansas (QB/WR) basically fits the description because his vertical jump was 39.5.

Calvin’s 40 and vertical (4.35 / 42.5 vert) are better than Julio’s (4.39 / 38.5 vert)

Julio Jones is in the same camp as Megatron, but without nearly the number of TDs.

Just to completely pull the curtain back on The Great Oz, I had to google Julio Jones's career stats and 40 time because I'm getting older. Did you know that Moss has 90 (NINETY) more career TDs than Jones. 90. 66 vs 156. Yes, Randy played more games (166 vs 218), but ho-lee sheeeeeeit! It's insane how good Moss was.

Would be interesting to see Jerry starting his career 15 years later. Not sure he would have had the same career.

Randy would have dominated any era as long as a QB could throw the ball downfield. Megatron was a physical mismatch, but there were CBs that could lock him down (Rolle, Revis to name a couple off the top of my head). But Randy was almost always going to get his. If he felt like it.
