4-Star Miami CB Commit Kenton Dopson Reclassifies to the 2026 Class

Miami Hurricanes four-star cornerback commit Kenton Dopson is moving up a grade, officially reclassifying from the 2027 class to 2026.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound cornerback from Miami Norland (Miami, FL) originally committed to the Hurricanes back in March. Dopson was one of the top overall prospects in the 2027 cycle, ranked as a top-100 player nationally and the No. 9 cornerback in his class.

As a sophomore at Norland, Dopson totaled three interceptions and 16 tackles, earning MaxPreps All-American honors for his standout play.

Dopson’s recruitment has drawn major national attention, holding more than 30 scholarship offers from schools around the country. His offer list includes Miami, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Texas, Texas A&M, Auburn, Penn State, North Carolina, and South Carolina, among many others.

Now set to join the 2026 class, Dopson’s move up gives Miami an elite defensive back a year earlier than expected.

I'd be okay with every local guy on the roster making it really uncomfortable for him to be around the area after he graduates from high school - that should be the case for any top local kid who spurns Miami. You either with us or against us

Facts like his family would let him leave to join that hot mess. I could see if it was UGA or bama or Ohio state. Imagine him enrolling to a 3 or 4 win UNC team while we're batting or potentially in the national title game. I would be sick if I was him
