Ya'll hating on my post but Armondo Blount and Malachi Toney decommitted soon after reclassifying. It's perfectly reasonable to assume this will happen again.

It doesn't mean he won't sign.

Not sure why theyre acting like its far fetched. If UNC wasn't such a disaster he might have done so already

Grab some visit bags and whatever free money is getting tossed around and then come back home… they’re playing “catch up” in their recruitments I ain’t mad at it

I understand my brother but our season is going too well for any negativity. Let’s try to stay positive my good brother

I'd call it being realistic and not negative, tbh. Even if he decommits, if Mario wants him, he'll get him (Blount/Toney).

Rivals Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power saw a number of reasons to keep him as a top-100 prospect.

“Kenton Dopson is a prospect that we’ve been a little higher than the industry on for a while,” Power told CaneSport. “We continue to really like him just based off seeing how he’s played this fall. We continue to like his experience and how battle tested he is against top receivers. He’s seen a lot of top receivers and has done well in those matchups on Friday nights. I think he has quality size. He’s a solid athlete. Good polish and awareness in coverage.”

Power said it’s important to know that when Rivals initially slots a player up a cycle for reclassification that the player carries his prior rating from the previous cycle, so Dopson was always going to slide. Dopson had a 93 player rating before his reclassification, so Rivals searched for a spot for Dopson first within the cornerback group and then within the overall class. He added he feels they’ll have a better feel for Dopson once Rivals has more games to be able to evaluate him but thinks he compares well to other prospect in the cycle.

“We feel like he stacks up well in that group as a top-100 prospect in this preliminary slotting and it’s something that we’ll continue to watch just with how they all stack up,” Power said. “I think just generally speaking when prospects do reclassify there’s a lot more competition because you’re reclassifying up generally into what’s a more advanced group of prospects, so there’s just inherently more competition when a prospect reclassifies. But Kenton Dopson, he’s a very good player. He’s a really polished, kind of well-rounded cornerback prospect.”

UNC bound
If he was he really should smack the Jesus outta whoever is supposed to be his support system. Cause ole bill is shopping a buyout right now. If you're gonna go there as a **** program nowhere close to home with no clue who your coach is gonna be well good luck with that. It's not the case from my understanding though.

the program is better off without bill than they are with that trash can

He was 11th but when he reclassified he was dropped from 5 star status . Same as Toney as they dropped him to a 3 star from a 4 in his class
Blount also had a #1 recruit trajectory (from what I gathered anyway) for his class. Probably would have depended on the SEC schools getting heavily involved

He was still a fringe 5 star (some places still had him at 5 I think) but for his class he was gonna be Top 10 for sure

i dont think he ever was headed that way...got a nice family offiial visit and leverage on the reclassify......his dad aint stupid lol

Of course they are. But that's not the point. The ONLY thing they can sell right now (especially to a DB) is good ole bill and his *** face twelve year old girlfriend. Anything beyond that is flat out uncertainty other than the money which anyone can offer.
