2026 4-star RB Javian Mallory announces commitment to the University of Miami

2026 4-star RB Javian Mallory announced his commitment to the University of Miami Saturday Night.

“I feel like I could be another great to come out of Miami,” said Mallory.

A six foot, 200 pound product from West Boca, Mallory has been creeping up boards as of late with his elite vision and balance. Just recently at the Under Armour Next camp in Miami, Mallory won RB MVP over elite competition such as 5-star Derrek Cooper. And despite only playing seven games last year, Mallory averaged over 10 yards a carry, consistently demonstrating a patience rarely seen in high school backs. Looking back to his full sophomore season, Mallory ran for nearly 1500 yards with 18 touchdowns and over 120 yards per game.

His film offers a lot to like. His cuts are sharp and decisive, waiting for the perfect gap to open and attacking. Even when the gap isn’t there, Mallory has the strength and power to force his way through the line of scrimmage with both brute force and a stiff arm move in his ****nal.

Mallory also offers a receiving threat out of the backfield. At the Under Armour Camp, the separation he got against opposing linebackers was ridiculous. He easily won every rep I watched with smooth cuts at the top of routes.

He becomes the first backfield commit for Miami’s 2026 class and if the “wall of Mirabal” continues, Mallory will have some great gaps to run through when he arrives on campus.
This comes after his unofficial visit to the university today for spring practice, another 2026 recruit to commit after his visit (Jaelen Waters, Ben Congdon). Mallory will officially visit again this summer June 20-22.

Mallory held nearly 50 offers from competing schools, namely rivals Florida and Notre Dame who showed high interest in the 4-star. He now joins the Hurricanes growing class of 2026 recruits, becoming the seventh commit alongside Jaelen Waters, Ben Congdon, Dereon Coleman, Jordan Campbell, and Camdin Portis.

Lyle is gone, and probably at least one of CWH/Brown (may not want to be RB3 again). With or without this kid, we need to go get a significant contributor and that’s assuming Fletcher returns and we don’t know for sure that he will.

I don't think Brown is going anywhere. But then nothing shocks me anymore as far as the portal goes.

Fletcher and Lyle should both be gone.

Brown may stay but probably depends the quality of guy we get in portal at RB…Even then if we got a real stud then he is still very different than Pringle..

To me though why not just move Lofton to RB/FB full time. That’s clearly what all the practice reports have said has been his best position. He need to cut some weight. But I see no reason he can’t basically do the exact same as Fletcher. If that’s not how he’s gunna be used then he needs to portal out too.

We need a Legit Starting TE in portal, I’d move Lofton to RB, and then get a quality RB in portal who is moving up from G5. (A Brown instead of Martinez type addition).

We really do need one higher end RB. Pringle's a nice player, but ideally we'd have a better RB1.

Going to need the WR and TE to step up with help for Toney as well. Can't make him do it all.

I’d hope both can earn the starting or rotational job, but under zero circumstances should we enter next season without a Major portal TE acquisition. Period. We use 2 TE far too often to do that. TE may be like 4th on offensive needs after QB, WR, C

If you have someone you know could, they would have actually done it given our te play has been dog**** this yr. Bauman has been the worst player on the entire offense. Gilbert barely played even in blowouts. Schott played less before getting hurt.

No not necessarily.

There are huge leaps between early in the frosh year and the sophomore year. And also TE is a position that requires ability at two facets, so weight room time and time needed in the playbook are understandable.

What have you seen from Lofton that makes you think he’ll be a competent and productive back? I just don’t see it with him. I was really excited about him when he signed, but after watching him this year, I don’t see him ever being a difference maker.

Next year the RBs will be good enough in my opinion without having to go portaling.

Pringle RB1a
Fletcher RB1b
Brown RB2
CWH RB3
Talented Frosh Mallory and hopefully Latimer develop during true Fr year.

If Fletcher leaves bump Brown to primary backup and move Lofton to the backfield.

Talented and versatile room. And if Lyle comes back even better.

6 RBs are plenty. Use the portal funds on other positions
