I don't think Brown is going anywhere. But then nothing shocks me anymore as far as the portal goes.

Fletcher and Lyle should both be gone.

Brown may stay but probably depends the quality of guy we get in portal at RB…Even then if we got a real stud then he is still very different than Pringle..

To me though why not just move Lofton to RB/FB full time. That’s clearly what all the practice reports have said has been his best position. He need to cut some weight. But I see no reason he can’t basically do the exact same as Fletcher. If that’s not how he’s gunna be used then he needs to portal out too.

We need a Legit Starting TE in portal, I’d move Lofton to RB, and then get a quality RB in portal who is moving up from G5. (A Brown instead of Martinez type addition).

If it’s not lofton I still think we will have a legit starting TE. Gilbert and Schott are both very talented and will be in year 2.

I’m not saying you say no to a portal stud just like any other position but with a year in the system one of these agould be ready to take the step.

We really do need one higher end RB. Pringle's a nice player, but ideally we'd have a better RB1.

Going to need the WR and TE to step up with help for Toney as well. Can't make him do it all.

I’d hope both can earn the starting or rotational job, but under zero circumstances should we enter next season without a Major portal TE acquisition. Period. We use 2 TE far too often to do that. TE may be like 4th on offensive needs after QB, WR, C

Again I'm not saying turn one down, but one of Schott and Gilbert could definitely emerge.

Well I just gave you the circumstances… If you are sitting there and you know you have someone who can be one of the top 15 TEs in the country right now, then there are just bigger needs.

If you have someone you know could, they would have actually done it given our te play has been dog**** this yr. Bauman has been the worst player on the entire offense. Gilbert barely played even in blowouts. Schott played less before getting hurt.

It was a very dumb response by you

No not necessarily.

There are huge leaps between early in the frosh year and the sophomore year. And also TE is a position that requires ability at two facets, so weight room time and time needed in the playbook are understandable.

What have you seen from Lofton that makes you think he’ll be a competent and productive back? I just don’t see it with him. I was really excited about him when he signed, but after watching him this year, I don’t see him ever being a difference maker.
 
Next year the RBs will be good enough in my opinion without having to go portaling.

Pringle RB1a
Fletcher RB1b
Brown RB2
CWH RB3
Talented Frosh Mallory and hopefully Latimer develop during true Fr year.

If Fletcher leaves bump Brown to primary backup and move Lofton to the backfield.

Talented and versatile room. And if Lyle comes back even better.

6 RBs are plenty. Use the portal funds on other positions
