2026 4-star RB Javian Mallory announces commitment to the University of Miami

All the HC jobs are currently filled. Tulane and Coastal made their HC hires already.

I think you’re putting too much exclusive Blame on Dawson and not enough also on Mario+Mirabal for this run scheme. There is zero chance this isn’t also THEIR choice especially regarding the OLine splits and lack of spacing. I agree Dawson was bad too, but clearly the identity Mario wanted was this ground and pound straight up the guy offense. I mean just listen to D$ constantly talking about how our run game never has negative plays. To me that’s him reflecting what this staffs goal was. To not have negative plays. The staff specifically was prioritizing that over generating explosive runs through the ground. And hey when you have Cam Ward that works! That’s why I’m saying the problem was going into this year with that mentality AND BECK! This was so obvious how that was gunna play out to me. And that’s why this portal season we need a high ceiling QB like Raiola/Mestemaker instead of a guy like Bailey.

And I agree Fletcher has been good this year far better than Brown and Lyle (who has sucked so incredibly bad it’s schocking). BUT Fletcher is NOT a guy we should be giving 120+ carries. He just isn’t. He’s a short yardage and redzone RB. That’s his value. I’ve constantly said this but I genuinely don’t think I’ve seen a worse Miami RB when he clears the first level of defenders than Fletcher. He’s great when it’s just a mess of bodies. But man it’s painful when he has a bubble of open field.

Brown idk many he’s fine. As a RB3 I don’t really have a problem. But again how is he different than Lofton? I’ve said this previous but what I’d do is just move Lofton to full time RB/FB hybrid Te and go and get a true TE1 in portal (and hope Schott+Gilbert step up). Fletcher should hit draft. To me Lofton and Mallory can fill the big RB role. Lyle will portal. And we need to land a quality RB that has explosiveness (again i don’t care about Long speed here) to pair with Pringle in that role.

Fletcher isn't going to the NFL. And Lyle had his year ruined by an ankle injury he never recovered from. A healthy Lyle, Pringle, and Fletcher is a very good trio.

Mallory probably needs a RS so what we need is a transfer who can be a more dynamic rotational RB than Brown was this year.

So Brown isn’t good enough to be our 4th back? He’s easily good enough based on blocking & short yardage alone. Go back & watch his play, particularly the first half of season.

Disclaimer: I’m not tuned into high school football so much.

But isn’t West Boca winning states kinda crazy?
