The RB position for the 2015 class is nowhere near set in stone between any of our 3 commits and it will continue to change as the next 5 months go. Cronkrite is one who will tell you the truth and not sugarcoat things but please believe our other commits are reaching out to other schools as well and are not interested in being part of a 3 back class. That's from various coaches.

JC made the comments about being unsure and the perception is that he's scared to compete. Whether the staff lied to him or not, there's opportunities for RBs to compete for early burn with Duke gone after this season.

You're part of JC's crew so of course you're going to say stuff to make the other RBs look like they're unsure too.

Yeah you are right I'm saying stuff to make others look a certain way. If only you guys knew what really goes on in this process.

Then tell us?

When I let out things I'm told that I'm making things up or someone who has significant amount more posts disagrees and the others follow. Certain things need to remain not known for various reasons. Some of the moderators can vouch for that.

I saw someone post earlier in this thread about reading these stories with the mind set of a fan and it will frustrate you because we want who we want on our team and we think how could someone not want to play here or why would they want to play at some other school. If you put yourself in these kids shoes or the family of these kids you can gain a little bit of perspective of how big this decision is for a kid. Some kids it's an easy decision and we as fans treat them better because they are true Canes and the ones who maybe aren't feeling us at the time we ridicule and say how much they suck and then we are in their top 5 or they actually commit and now they walk on water.

Me personally I don't put much into anything these kids say until February because they are kids and are easily influenced and change their minds at the drop of a dime. I've also spoken to a number of kids who check out their own stories on this site and read your comments and the best part is they realize 99% of you don't know what you are talking about and will never be in the position they are in.
This is true... I came to this site on recommendation of one of Shaq's coaches .. there is alot of eyes on this site... and good or bad those eyes view this sight as the representation of University of Miami... this may be their only connection. So if they see themselves getting bashed in here... they feel that the University of Miami is bashing them.... and to take it a step further... kid see another gets bashed and starts to think how long is it before I get bashed... A number of kids wait until the last minute to make their commitment to avoid such things...like the kid from Auburn High School saying he wished he would have waited to make his commitment to Alabama to avoid his parent's store from being vandalized by irate Auburn fans. There is MORE positive promotion on this site than negative bashing, but a little negative tainting goes a long way... A half a drop of dog **** can taint a whole keg of beer... not unless you are really drunk... but I think you get the point. I would say keep the punches honest and above the belt.

Any chance this can be pinned to the top of the recruiting board? I realize this is a free message board and, although people are not entitled to every opinion thanks to regulation by the mods (thank you mods), a variety of viewpoints are encouraged. That being said it is a community of Hurricanes fans and the only people I want to see on this board are those that care about the U. For me, it would be terrible if one of the only ways I have to influence the program (between this site and donating money) turned out to be a negative influence.

hmmm...they must get a kick out of our NSFW commit celebrations.

Love the contrast between the Cronkite and Scarlett articles... If Cronkite reads this site he must be feeling a little bit like a diva today

I don't have any sympathy for these kids, really. It's the internet and social media age and love it or hate it, it's the way it is. I don't personally knock these kids because, well I am an adult, but you will always have outliers and jackoffs that spoil it for the decent people. Same as guys like Keef Bryant ruins it for kids like Jaquan Johnson, or guys of the ilk. Oh ******* well, really. Sadly, it's just become a part of society.

Oh and.....Jordan, don't leave.

Token has stated that Walton really won't have an impact. The problem is not Walton, but instead Scarlett and Williams. Sounds like Cronk isn't buying the Williams angle.

If/when Gray makes it in, that would be the example of the "offensive weapon" role that is being thrown out there. You show Williams what he would be and show Cronk as well. Williams would be more Dexter McCluster than full time RB.

I know cronk personally, he wants to be at UM that's why he committed so early. He just feels that maybe this isn't the best opportunity to make it to the next level. That maybe he'll be forgotten behind some of the other backs. If he were to go to let's say West Virginia on the other hand, He may be their premier back. All this being said, He wants to be in Miami and it should be easy for the coaches to keep him here

So if he goes to WVU he won't have to worry about competition because that school will stop recruiting talented backs as long
as he is on the roster?
Makes sense.
The **** folks feed to these kids.

Heres how Cronk (and imo the real problems his friends and mentors) need to see it is with more competition it helps him get better. Cronk will have to say "ok let me learn to pass block better, let me be a great receiving back and try to show NFL team I have sick hands, try to kill it on st and know when I show the coaches I can do all the little things I will get the **** ball". Problem is some guys don't see the big picture and if/when he does finally see the big picture he'll realize he can do so many things and also save his body for the pros and that's what every rb should want.

I don't think anyone is saying that.. The kid probably has dreams of making it to the league..making good money, winning the heisman and other cfb awards.. Much better opportunity to do all of that if he isn't competing with 3 other top 10 backs in his class..the #4 back in the country a year ahead of him, and more backs in 16 &17 classes.. The kid deserves the right to check his options if he was told there would be two backs in the class..if he chooses to stay then great, more respect to him but this isn't about loving the u this is about making the best choice for his future. I'd have my kid check his options too.

Can't be mad at the staff for trying to load up at position. Missing out on Collins and not being able to land another quality back to go along with Yearby last season. Get as many as you can committed and hopefully you got 2 come NSD. Hopefully Williams is one of the two.

This years backs are not as talented as the prior year. So snatch em up and have options. You get 3, great and if you get 2. That isn't bad either.

The thing is it is only August. Golden and Co haven't coached a game this season yet. So nobody is a sure bet to sign here. Scarlett is on his second school and Cronkrite is mowing things over. Every other day someone is starting a thread that Williams is looking to decommit.

The coaches are just covering bases to protect what they failed to do since being here and that still may not help them.

RB is the one spot where it is advantageous for your long term career to share carries. It also has the most attrition due to injury than other positions. Scarlett/Williams/Cronkrite will all have their chances provided they are as advertised and they will all come out of college with a lot of tread on the tires and one less detraction when being scrutinized for the draft. Hope Cronkrite realizes this and sticks.

Jordan Cronkrite can't show the NFL anything if he doesn't PLAY. Go somewhere where you are going to get playing time first and foremost.

Heres my biggest issue, though I understand why Cronk has questions he has to think of all the things he can really do as little things that coaches care about more in the NFL. You can get a stud oline that can make blocks but can you block? Can you catch? Can you read blitzes? Can you make guys miss in the open field and then do you have the vision. Rbs have to learn many things while staying healthy because when your body wears out NFL teams throw you out

So he can't get that here? I said this whole time that if a rb can really catch the ball, pass block and does all the little things he will play unless we have 3 NFL starters on this team who teams are drooling over and somehow they're all that much better then Cronk he will play

You don't have to be in a HS kid's entourage to know what goes on in the recruiting process.

Also, you only seem to mention Williams/Scarlett/Walton calling other schools when JC is being questioned.

WVU has 1 back in the NFL.

Is JC going to be better prepared for the NFL by being gifted the main back role at WVU, or by competing his *** off on a daily basis with the likes of Dexter Williams, Jordan Scarlett, Mark Walton, and Walter Fuggin Tucker?

He is trying to get at the fact that he doesn't see Cronkrite ever seeing the field "not good enough to play at Miami". Although i don't feel he is really stellar @ RB. He is talented enough. That if he doesn't win our see as much game time there. He does have to option to switch to defense.
