2015 RB Cronkrite Unsure of Miami Commitment

With 3 running backs currently sitting in the Miami Hurricanes 2015 recruiting class, 2015 Westminster (Fla.) running back Jordan Cronkrite wouldn’t label himself as a solid commit.

“I gotta meet with the coaches to talk about some things, talk about the future and what’s going to happen.”

The 5’11 196 pound running back has been in contact with other schools including South Carolina, West Virginia and Florida.

Cronkrite is looking forward to speaking with the coaches and is looking for his questions regarding the other running backs in the class to be answered.

“Just to see what they’re going to do with running back situation and just see what happens from there.”

The Westminster product has no visits set up until during the season where he will be able to catch a couple Hurricane games.

Cronkrite, like many, was surprised with the recent news of Hurlie Browns switch to Linebackers coach and Ice Harris move as the new Running Backs coach. Cronkrite is familiar with Harris’ reputation at the high school level.

“I met him when I went to the school one time, he clearly knows what he’s talking about and he knows how to win. I don’t know much about him besides what he did at Booker T.”

*Will not be attending U Day due to a school function.

Did Dexter himself say he was scared? Our is that the words from posters so **** bent he is looking for a way out? Would like to see actual quotes from Williams on the matter. The ones i seen said he welcomed it like Scarlett has also said.

Cronkrite shouldn't be a high priority anymore if you have 3 better prospects already committed at the same position.

I know Golden really loved Cronkrite and showed him a ton of attention. Cronkrite was in love with this staff too. I think Dexter Williams is the suprise commit. no one expected him to be here people felt we had a chance with Scarlett and Walton wasnt supposed to reclassify. its a crazy situation. I also believe he wants to feel the staff still wants him like they showed him before the other 3 RBs came along. i hope he sticks. RBs dont have to start to make it. its enough carries to go around

LOL @ Ice playing Walton over another back just because he played at BTW. Ice is going to recommend the best back. That will keep his job safe and prove himself to be a top coach on this level.

Did Cronkrite say he's scared or is he just making sure he's going into the right situation? Shaqs dad even said he would at least want to be assured everything would be fair and in this situation I understand why. If Ice didn't come I would agree he's scared but he's the position coach so easily that can be interpreted the wrong way even from some "frends", "family" and of course "mentors". We'll see what happens

I agree. I don't think any of these four are afraid of competition. Kids do want PT and look a depth for that reason. I like all four of these kids. If Walton does get in I doubt if Ice will play favorites or that Al will allow it. Joe is starting after Duke leaves, so all this men will be fighting for PT behind him. Duke Johnson didn't start in front of Mike James. Al will start experience when he can and that is correct. Mike came back for senior year and got his NFL time. Their was plenty of talent in his way, Miller, Strom etc, but he is in NFL and looking good. I understand RBs want to get out quick and should, but maybe 1 or 32 stay, get degree, improve the skills that keep you on teams after legs get older. Cane RB have track record of long careers not just careers. I want all these guys but I want the one who are coming no matter what more. Give me a Craig Erickson any day.

Keep posting. Love your stuff. Most of us are a little weak on balanced point of view.

This is garbage. Will Ice handpicked the starting RB or dictate playing time? NO. Will he have input? Yes. Anyone who has played or coached at any level knows the OC and HC make those decisions. Thats why they make the big $. They have 3 million reasons each year to play the best player.

This is Ice's shot to be more than top HS coach. He is not going to take chances on his career. He will play the kids that make him look good. Man has waited long time and talked the talk a lot; now is his chance to walk the walk. Huge op for him to bounce his own career to whole new level. He has, Duke and Joe this year and 3 or four menfolk coming in next year. Mike and Al have handed him a fantastic chance here. I have had issues with him, but he can coach and I expect him to shine.

Since when did position coaches make personnel decisions? They teach technique and recruit. The depth chart will ultimately be decided by Golden and Coley.

The RB position for the 2015 class is nowhere near set in stone between any of our 3 commits and it will continue to change as the next 5 months go. Cronkrite is one who will tell you the truth and not sugarcoat things but please believe our other commits are reaching out to other schools as well and are not interested in being part of a 3 back class. That's from various coaches.

Good luck to him if he's buying the horse **** the redneck shysters from ufayg and Carolina are pitching him. Does he think any top program will ever stop recruiting RBs and just hand him the keys for 4 years? Be like Scarlett and embrace the competition.

P.S. the dude is scared of Walton, and Walton has been hedging about even coming here. They should play a game of rock, paper, scissors to see which one comes here.
