AMEN!These coaches have been good/elite at many of their stops.
These kids have NEVER been good, under any staff.
Your Corner getting utterly smoked on a 'go' route is not coaching, it's a lack of talent. That's mono-e-mono football.
Your O-lineman getting smoked is also likely a talent issue when you consider that the guy coaching them has a good resume for developing OL.
WR's not catching passes is a talent issue.
It becomes more obvious that the issue isn't coaching when you look at the performance of the younger/more talented kids like Kinchens, Wesley, Nyjalik, etc...or the portal kids...ALL OF WHICH ARE CLEARLY BETTER THAN THE KIDS MANNY LEFT FOR MARIO.
Y'all can say whatever you want about TVD, but that MF'er has been missing throws and/or not seeing WR's that are wide open. This offense has clearly been an adjustment for him. But guess what, this resembles an NFL offense far more than Lashlee's did... AND HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE AN NFL TALENT!
Go watch TVD's tape from last year and 80% of the highlights consist of Harley or Rambo winning one-on-one matchups. (nobody on our team is doing that this season)
I'm more inclined to give these coaches the benefit of the doubt rather than a bunch of kids who have NEVER excelled here. (some of which have work ethic problems, entitlement issues, weed issues, etc)
Like, we literally have 5-star kids who need a mommy/coach intervention meeting just to get them to work hard and stop eating junk food. We're dealing with full blown children!
This I agree with and is everything! Alot of fans are going to turn there back on him me included! His tenure at Miami is going to depend heavily on firing Gattis and getting the right OC here. I think we can all give him a pass this year but it's ultimately up to MC, completely blew this season! IMO Gattis should have been gone an Ponce should have been calling plays till end of season!!there is no excuse as to why our team is performing worse than last year. was manny better at motivating?
idk but it's not a good sign for the future
I still have hope that he cans gattis but if gattis is our OC next year then mario can go F himself
A portion of it did. Dj iveyJust stop. We got stomped by MTSU, and it didn't have one **** thing to do with talent.
Get off the soap box already, you asked me a question and I gave you the answer. Now you are talking about this that and the other thing. for the last month this offense hasnt had its QB, almost half the offensive line and literally 0 running backs. Also lost its most reliable, dependable WR in X during the second game of the season and he just came back. Mario and Gattis have done a poor job with the offense this year but you are comparing apples to oranges to what Lashlee had to work with compared to what has happened to this roster this year. its been ridiculous. Like I told you originally, check the box scores and drive charts yourself but you wont because of your man crush for Rhett. I dont even like this debate because I like Lashlee, I believe he is a good coach. This thought he was a messiah because of yards, Gattis's offense had yards to the first month so what.We scored 31 against an UAB team that was light years better than Southern Miss or Middle Tennessee. All before the fourth quarter. With 500 yards of offense.
25 is more than we’ve scored against any P5 team this year outside of Georgia Tech.
Even the Virginia game, where they struggled to score, Miami rolled up 450 yards of offense. By contrast, we had 273 against Virginia this year. Our offense has only cracked 450 yards against a P5 team once this year.
Cool. Remember what happened when Rhett lost his starting QB in 2021?Get off the soap box already, you asked me a question and I gave you the answer. "Players have to be good enough to overcome bad coaching" - Jimmy JohnsonMiddle Tennessee?
We had better offensive scheming last year. X getting hurt didn’t help us either. There is bad play yes but there is also a lot of bad coaching going on. That’s a bad combo.
Cool. Remember what happened when Rhett lost his starting QB in 2021?
All I’m saying is that one guy was able to make it work with a trash offensive line, a backup quarterback and mediocre skill talent. I don’t get the myth that Miami had such awesome talent last year and this year they have nothing. The offensive line was trash. They only had Knighton for the entire second half at running back and the all world wide receivers were two guys who were jags before playing in Lashlee’s offense. Mike Harley was well on his way to being a career backup with minimal production and Charleston Rambo had lost his job at Oklahoma to a freshman.
yeah its all the same trash thats the point some of us are making except Rambo and Harley are better than anyone playing outside of X this year and he missed half the season. A Juco WR has become the most reliable player. Rhett also had Cam Davis who made big plays in the run game occasionally to help ease some pressure. We have played the entire year without a threat at RB. Garcia has **** the bed, unlike what TVD did last year, to the point the coaches had no choice to play a true freshman that can't hit water if he fell out of a boat. I'm arguing all this not as a defense to Mario or Gattis but just to the sheer fact of the point of this thread. this team could not sustain the type of injuries like they have on offense this year. The talent isn't there to replace.Cool. Remember what happened when Rhett lost his starting QB in 2021?

The young kids. With all this portal talk, who would be considered the “core” of this team to build around?
Really looking forward to Kelly next yearThe young kids.
Wesley, Kinchens, maybe even Jacurri depending on what happens with TVD.
That's why it's gonna take at least one more season to fully get rolling.
Other than Restrepo, who are the upperclassmen leaders on this team?
Where are the alphas?
high intelligence kids, tooReally looking forward to Kelly next year
Not just his play but I like what I’ve heard from him, how he carries himself etc
I feel really good about the incoming class when it comes to this as well. Lots of high character kids from what I’ve seen. I know we’ve fallen for that before but this is one area where I think Mario is one of the strongest options.
It doesn’t matter who you have back there, there’s no time for more than one read lmaoI'd take a one read QB that throws for 300 a game over this crap.
We were several lucky bounces from a 3 win season last year.
