Stop with theses players lost to fiu. There about 6 players on the team that were freshman.
That is not true at all. There are a lot more than you think and many play a lot.
3 of our starting offensive linemen (Scaife, Campbell, Clark)
our starting TE (Mallory)
2 corners (Ivey, Couch) and 5 rotational players in the defensive back seven (Blades, Frierson, K. Smith, Huff, Steed).
1 starting DE (Harvey), 2 other rotational DL (JHH, Miller)
starting punter, long snapper (Hedley, James)
then another handful-ish of players that are (probably) on the roster but do not play whether it be due to injury or just not good enough to play (Nelson, Matocha, Traore, Ragone...plus some others I am not remembering at the moment).
That's a lot, brother. Couple that upperclassman group with the #17 composite recruiting class from 2020 that has yielded only a few starting quality players and #11 composite class in 2021 that again, yielded very few starting quality players at this point (and these two classes will be filled with attrition after this season ends)...its not hard to see that this roster actually stinks - it has lot of bad Ls and poor performances under their belt. At some point, what you see on the field is very obvious that we are deficient in many ways.
This is not to absolve coaching, we can have two separate discussions, but the roster construction seems like a pretty obvious shortcoming in this program.
