Your favorite Miami-FSU memory

Dorsey to Shockley to take the lead in the 2000 game. That was the statement to the nation that Butch Davis had brought us back.
I will never forget that game this is my best memory as the Canes ripped their hearts out. But bittersweet in a way since they chose the poo 💩 patrol over the Canes to play Oklahoma in title game.

Barrow
ST vs. Rix
Langham
Mcgahee screen pass/Geathers TD/ST decapiates PK Sam…All in a span of like 5 minutes- 1 minute of gameplay

On a side note…Good Story. My best friend and I, 15 yo I believe (in Western PA mind you)…I was a Canes fan, he was a Noles fan. I got in trouble at home for something in the morning, or my mom had me doing some **** and was running way behind and I got ****ed and left the house to walk to another friend's house just before noon. I was running late. I stopped by my man the nole's crib…And knocked at door because I knew the game was starting at like 12:05. I went in, sat on the couch and the kickoff was Tamarick Vanover to the house. I ran out of his house instantly. We are still close, life long friends to this day (he went to FSU for the last 3 years of college), and in 35 years of cheering for CFB, that is the only play of this rivalry that we have watched together! He cheered me out of the house, celebrating…Our other man whose house I was originally on my way to (who was a wagon jumper, a Michigan fan actually, had family that played at Pitt lol, but you know everyone is a UM hater)…Met me half way in the ally and they were both screaming and cheering Vanover's ko return from from different directions..Mfers. But yeah I continued on to his house and we watched most of game and UM comeback there and I let the whole **** neighborhood know about it all weekend and all over the hallways of HS on Monday

Me and my nole friend bet $5 on this game for like 20 years straight up until our early 30s lol.

The last Canes game I attended in the OB in 1982. We lost 24-7 and was kinda of an uneventful game. What made it stand out was I got tickets for the game from a friend of my father. As soon as I got them, I knew right away the tickets were on the visitors side. My buddy and I said the **** with it, let’s go anyway.

Great seats at the 40 yard line about 20 rows up surrounded by semenhole fans. We had a blast. Their fans certainly gave us grief but were friendly and respectful and even bought us a couple of sodas.

talked my cousin into driving all the way up to Tallahassee in 1991 without tickets to see #2 Miami at #1 FSU,
(i at 17 actually believed we could just get GM admissions scalp tickets outside doak like we always did at the OB)
absolutely dejected we couldnt get tickets, but not down for the count, me and my cousins tried everything until finally sneaking in via the family of players at an open gate, walked in between some family, signed our names in a book like the rest of the people and walked right in.....
only problem there was no wheres to friging sit, security kept making us move, so basically walked all the way around the stadium non stop till the 4th quarter, when we finally grabbed seats in the endzone sitting right amongst the Miami Band of the hour...unbelievable view of the wide right kick right over our heads........we went ballistic absolute pandemonium some fat tuba player fell on me. thats the best one i got
Wide right one - I was in the Miami section in the endzone as well. I had a student ticket but I had to buy a plane ticket back home to see my great grandmother for her 90th birthday in order to get out of a mandatory field lab trip for ecology.
Way more details and twists and turns but that is at the top of numerous OB cane memories.

This one for me too. My sister was at FSU and gave birth to my 1st niece the day this game was on. I was in Tallahassee, in a hospital, surrounded by Noles, being as obnoxious as possible. I almost got kicked out. The best FSU v Miami game I didn’t attend.
Your Niece has a great birthday !!
Lol I’m sure being surrounded by Noles during this win had to be so gratifying!!

I’ll never forget watching this with my pops and laughing in his face. Little backstory: Grew up in South Florida and we moved up to North Florida in the late 80’s. I remained a Canes fan and my dad, the sellout, became a Nole fan. This rivalry runs deep in my family…nothing like it. I’ll never forget that old fart Bowden running down the sideline like wtf just happened…made my year 😂

Also my favorite FSU-Miami game moment. I also laughed at Bobby Bowden reaction. I originally thought the FSU kicker made the kick from the angle we were watching but then watching Sebastian reaction as he ran into the field celebrating then I knew he missed the kick. Those FSU-Miami games back than were the best. The winner would have a shot at the national title and the loser was out (which was usually the seminoles)
