Your Coaching Wishlist for 2015

Can we dispense with the "The NCAA couldn't prove anything on Butch" nonsense? So what? The perception is still that he was the man at the helm, and that there is NO way he could not have known sh*t was going on. Could they PROVE it? No. But that doesn't mean its not pretty much widely believed that he turned a blind eye to sh8t. He also had the John Blake fiasco on his watch. That was two bad black eyes in his time at UNC.

Perception is reality. Butch is TAINTED from that UNC mess. And UM is on probation, and just finished one of the longest, and ugliest NCAA witch hunts in its history, where we actually had the media calling for the death penalty again for us, when it first broke. There is ZERO chance Shalala will hire Butch back here.
I think it's telling that no one else has hired Butch either. A guy who wrecked his bike riding with his GF, a school employee, and lied about it to everyone, got hired.

The fact is that Butch has a reputation for being two faced. Apart from all the public stuff, there are little things that have been around a long time that rub people the wrong way about him. People forget that he supposedly negatively recruited against Randy pretty hard when Shannon was here. Wether it was fair or not, Im sure that didn't endear him to the administration in the least bit. The guy just damaged his ties here too much the way he handled things, and then the Academic Scandal, plus the John Blake thing, topped off with the fact that UM is HYPERSENTITIVE right now about anything even perceived to be shady, makes Butch untouchable.

TedHendricksOffspring basically says you are full of schit. He works in Shalalalalala's office so I'll take his word for it....you're full of schit homie.

You're full of crap.

Mind documenting some of this BS? How about documenting the "two-faced" portion of your made-up BS? I've seen you do some flips on some subjects here and there, and I don't think I've ever seen anyone so opinionated - and wrong so many times - in my life. You have a rather interesting habit of ignoring facts and fabricating your own versions of something.

"he supposedly negatively recruited against Randy . . ." WTF does this mean. You have some first-hand narrative by some players, or is this just more BS?

As for "the guy just damaged his ties here too much the way he handled things . . ." Do you even know what the problem was when they had negotiated everything on his contract - except the buyout? No one in their right mind would agree to what the "U" proposed at the last minute of the last hour of contract negotiations.

I'd imagine a few years back that some idiot would say that Petrino would NEVER be hired back at UL the way "he damaged his ties" - but guess what? Things weren't as damaged as some idiots may indicate. Right? Because the other night, I saw Petrino back at UL, and they kicked our ***.

You casually mention "the Academic Scandal," but you don't mention that the NCAA investigation, including the UNC's investigation found Butch had nothing to do with it.

So why would you make unsubstantiated allegations, why would you post outright lies, and then make asinine conclusions based on faulty facts, assumptions, and false allegations?

Only a cop would do something like that - out of habit.

the ice harris for HC crowd is maybe just as worst as the butch davis for HC folks.

I wouldnt really like Schianno as a HC, but could like him as a DC if we hired an offensive orriented HC. If we hire a Defensive minded HC, we let him get who he wants as his DC, but would have to get a really good OC. The team must be Attacking in every aspect. Pruitt, Chud, would prob be my top picks.

Either way, i wouldnt want to just let the HC choose whoever he wanted as the supporting cast, like golden did with Donofrio. I dont think Butch would be too good of a HC for us, but id like him involved somehow, he has such a good eye for talent...

You guys want to roll the dice again.

Schiano was 68-67 at Rutgers. He was barely at Miami, and maybe it's me, but that kind of record doesn't exactly make my willy tingle.

We NEED a proven, program-building HC. Enough of this on-the-job learning BS.

And your coach, like it or not, picks his own Coordinators. See, in real life - in business as well - when you give someone responsibility for a job - you likewise must give them the authority to perform that job.

****.

I'll say it again.

Butch is not considered untouchable, but he is not at the top of the list. Schiano is untouchable as far as I've been told.

Who exactly is up near the top of that list?

I'm not allowed to say exactly without getting myself in trouble. However, a lot of the primary names being discussed were on the short list, Butch included.

@DiegoCane One of those was getting heavy attention.

Can you give your opinion on the group as a whole? Would you say they would be looking for a proven winner or more of a up and coming guy?

It was more up and coming coordinators than it was established guys, but the established guys that were being considered were strong choices.

If Stoops and Narduzzi are who they are fond of it shows how they STILL don't get it.

It's goig to take an elite experienced Kat, either a college head coach who's a proven winner, or an NFL dude. I love Narduzzi, and respect Stoops. But this program is dead right now and those guys don't have the experience, coaching tree, or gravitas to pull it off.

If someone says Pruitt one more time I'm going to neg every post that mentioned him. Dude is more green than RANDY was. You don't hire a college coordinator at Miami right now. Period.

So, this implies that the UM administration has a head-start on a coaching search, if needed.

That makes me feel a bit better ... We won't be in scramble mode.

I'll say it again.

Smfh these morons who run this school make the same mistake 3 times in a row, have a historical blueprint to be followed, and STILL can't get it right.

Seriously ... Who are you thinking really wants this gig, that's established?

Or, are you suggesting UM just pay whatever is required to bring Chip Kelly or Dan Quinn back to college?

You are clueless on what Miami money can buy right now.

Throw out some names that fit your criteria.

This has me excited and hope for the future. Thanks for the info.
