You Want To See Quality UM LBer Play??

i see quality LB play when I’m watching Shaq and Pinckney as well
I disagree, the linebackers now are average, and it looks like they stop progressing after there sophmore year. Pickney still ways around 220-225 hee been missing so many backfield tackles since the beginning of the season; Shaq is a little slow, runs like a 4.7 40 yard, and he has trouble shedding blocks, all that being said none of them are nowhere as hard as a hitter as some of are past great linebackers.

I’m starting think that it doesn’t matter how good our current linebackers may be
(Still too much inconsistency imo) some fans will always say the older guys were better regardless if the current guys played great because of their nostalgic feelings of thinking everything was better back then.

Well, to be fair, everything REALLY WAS better back then as far as UM football goes.

Is that supposed to be a knock on Perryman?

Not being "top 5" isn't necessarily bad when the guys ahead of you are guys like Barrow, Armstead, Smith, Lewis, Morgan, Vilma, etc.

Not a knock at all, but a response to the outrageous claim that he is the best tackler.

Perryman isnt even top 5. Too slow.
He absolutely should be in consideration for top 5, just think about it. He actually stood out on a golden non attacking defense.... do you know how hard that is? Plus those other guys played with more talent around them and upfront and perryman was a force by his **** self

Go watch Mike Barrow against Houston in 1991. Or Dan Morgan against FSU in 2000. Or Nate Webster against WVU in 1998,

That's what a MLB at Miami should look like. Dominant.

I think Brock started watching UM in 2008.

Perryman isnt the hardest hitter. His NFL career relative to the other greats negates your theory that he should be placed above bc he was in goldens scheme.

he was actually good at goldens scheme; he had the build to take on OL head up.

He had the build because golden made him add weight. He was playing at 250 here. He is around 230-235 now. And you are blind if you don't think perryman wasn't bringing the boom. When he hit dudes they went backwards.

The lbers back then wouldn’t be able to do everything that’s being asked of these players today... different game chump. If that basic defense that was being played back then worked now Shaq and Pinckney and even McCLoud would be putting up Dan Morgan type numbers.

McCord, Shaq and Pinckney definitely did not live up to all the hype. They are all decent LBs, each with their own shortcomings.

Thats a crock of ****.....

That so-called Basic defense destroyed all the supposedly invincible Veer and Wishbones that were wrecking havoc for 50yrs.....
Anyone who thinks Barrow and Company wouldn't be able to play LBer today, needs their *** whipped.....
Only a profound Moron would believe that....All three would be AAs or All ACC at worse today......
